Only just seen this. We just may get a Resi Mod out of KF yet! :D

EDIT: WTF! He's trying to sell that Nemesis model for Killing Floor? Surely thats illegal in two counts of copyright laws. One against Capcom and one against Tripwire Interactive. That is rediculous!
He ONLY sells his stuff...I would of thought you knew this by now specially as us modders have been having a "decent" conversation on like 3 threads about this now lol.

Sorry, I've only just noticed for myself.

Yeah I saw your recent thread. Im glad more people are seeing what we have seen and agree with us.

:D 100% agree with you. When TWI are giving out free content in events, it hardly fits the bill for a customer to try and profit from their content. Better yet, its not even theirs, its ripped from another game lol.

Didn't same thing happen to most mods which include resident evil monsers?

I do recall that yes. I'd say RE is the kiss of death, but I'd probably go with, because the modders know how much work they've put into porting those RE monsters and then see how much support they get for it. Which is practically none in real terms.

These mods get a section way down at the bottom of the forums where no one ever looks, so no one gets any real kind of support for something worthwhile. Meanwhile up in General Population you get a thread about some guys gaming experience where he was kicked from a server because he was too pro and the thread hits 70,000 views in a day.

As much as I hate to see modders go, I dont blame them. Although I know TWI have stated they support no mod in their EULA, its a total waste when things like this mod die. And for what, so some fool in gen pop can talk about how pro he is on easy difficulty.

I'm annoyed because people like us care about the modders and their mods and we respect them and its us that get screwed over when the poo hits the fan. Everyone in Gen Pop dont care, or even if they wanted to care they dont know because they dont take the time to scroll down to the bottom.

And to top off that, if you "necro" a thread you mostly end up with post rated down and people saying "don't necro stupid threads" awhile they do exactly same with threads which are total disaster... :(

Anyway, I realised Resident Evil in most of games end up exactly same. Look at Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 - there are plently of mods which got started and were about Resident Evil, and less than 10% of them got even finnished, where most of them are just skin ports and nothing else. Only one campaign got finnished so far and it's Outbreak file 1 for l4d2 which my friend finnished. I hope Resident Evil in other games would be more often and people would stop abandoning it, especially that so many people are awaiting it.

phwrrrr not sure how to respond to this.

from a modder's perspective, yes we can get quite despondent, when we post up a mod and not many people post in the thread but that is the limitations to where it is posted and just a fact of life, you either live with it or not bother modding in the first place, if all you care about is adulation.

When I first started the vehicle mod, I was a bit concerned that it only had like a few hundred views but since release on MODDB, it has had over 12,000 downloads.
I couldn't care less if it was only 1000, because at least I know 1000 people are having fun with something I made, don't get me wrong though, I am over the moon that it was quite popular at the time.

NOT EVERY KF player comes to these forums, which most of the modders have stated before, so if you only promote your stuff here, then of course you will be limited on views, but as said, that is if you are a glory hound and just want people to beg at your feet and offer to kiss your boots and then give up because you are not receiving the attention that you think you deserve.

I mod, for the simple fact that I love modding and making things. Nothing more, nothing less. If people download and enjoy my work...coool and if they don't say anything, it won't stop me doing something that I enjoy as a hobby.

I agree with you mate. Unfortunately Gen pop has a "you think like us or you dont think at all" policy. Look at WaloWizard. That guy took on what he called "The Fossils" and went against them, he ended up getting banned. Sad thing is, he was right in what he was saying, the forums are backwards. The least important section has pride of place.

I totally respect that you make mods for the love of making mods and that is all good and fine. But even so, you deserve the respect and support whether you want it or not. And that is something the modders dont get.

Instead you get someone who thinks they're god, that comes in and rips your work apart after you've taken time and effort over it. I dont care how you cut the paper, that is out of order and it makes the modder feel like crap. And that is seen as acceptable on the forums.

For example:

As one person once said "the mod will just end up next to a load of other junk no one cares about"

Hunter is talking about SMIFF who pulled his KF Zombies mod down. It was seen to be acceptable that SMIFF was allowed to call Hunters mod Junk.

It goes beyond whether modders want the respect or not.

All I see here is an attempt to build up hype over a mod that'll most likely fail and end up buried alongside a clusterf*ck of other terrible (some ok) mods

That post still stands today. It aint acceptable. Thats why I dont blame modders like Hunter leaving. Why should you all have to put up with that kind of disrespect.

It all then falls on TWI's shoulders. If they want people to continue to support their games and make mods for them, they need to shut people like SMIFF up, whether he's been here from day 1 or not, its not acceptable. People like him are whats driving modders away. Whether you want to admit it or not, that is plain fact.
