[Mutator] Modded Specimen Mechanics

Sorry about Stalkers. I'd checked out the code again and now I'm starting to like your changes. First, Stalkers aren't poisonous - you are just bleeding from scars. That makes more sense. Second I found out that bleeding also lowers the healing effect and that features should be cool, or at least something different.

hmm, all the specimens are all invisible after the 2.0 version, expect the clots. lol. Venilla V1.8.3sr works just fine for me. Using ServerPerks 6.0.

Yeah, just checked the code - SG forgot to add mutator to server packages. You can add it manually to server's KillingFloor.ini or wait till bugfix update will be released.

SG, btw, if you need to release an update anyway, may I ask you to make ZombieSuperScrake.maxTimesFlipOver configurable? It would be nice to give server admins ability to change it via .ini file.

First, Stalkers aren't poisonous - you are just bleeding from scars. That makes more sense.

In terms of reality, wouldn't it make less sense that the damage was from wounds bleeding out than a poisonous effect? Because than it should be true for all the specimens, right? The bleeding, that is. But if only the Stalkers are poisonous then it makes kinda sense, right? Like, I am sure a chainsaw would cause bleeding, too. lol.

As a game mechanic I think it's easy to understand the effect from Stalkers as it is now. However, I guess, it would be more believable that it would be the Crawlers that had this effect on players. BUT as I said, it is easy to understand the effect as it is now with Stalkers,,,and it is just a game.

I guess you could add this effect to the Crawlers with its other effects, alternatively. I think it's just fine as it is now, though.

Having tried version 2.0, thanks to poosh, I really like new Husk change. That's a +1.

The Stalker seems to work fine with the new change. I'd might prefer that this change was added to the Crawler instead, and that the blood spatter on the screen turned green like poison. Not that I mind the way it is now.

I do like the bleeding out effect on the players. It's a less deadly blot bile. It stessed that you might need to heal fast, but that you also have (probably) the time to get healed up.

Anyhow, good job on this release!

I have a compromise: you can chain stun (i.e. reset the stun timer), but if he recovers, then that's it, no more stuns. Also, I'll work in a change to the speed penalty code with the ModifyVelocity function so your ScrN mutator can still function properly. I hadn't thought about that when I was working around the custom pawn issue.

That's a good idea! But one more thing: imo fire DoT shouldn't unstun the Scrake. No, if retarded Firebug continues spamming fuel on stunned Scrake, then it's OK for him to unstun. But if you accidently put SC on fire, then the next stun will be immediately broken by the DoT. And because of this you can't use Husk Gun for Scare-stunning too. I think you should skip stun breaking if received damage type is 'DamTypeFlamethrower' (it is only used for DoT, Flamer has 'DamTypeBurned').

Now some thoughts about the Fleshpound.
Some time ago I've already posted this idea on the forums, what do you think about it:
Two body hits in a row with melee weapon rages FP. So if Zerker is too lame and can't land precise hits to the head, then he will quickly rage FP.

Second thing is about totalDamageRageThreshold. Can you explain why it is needed please? Why do you need to rage FP when he'd received 720 damage? You've already made kiting hard, but other weapons rage him anyway.

The husk gun wasn't around when I added unstun, and it was added to punish missed head shots or sloppy shooting. I personally like fire dot unstun because scrakes that accidentally get nailed by husks present a different kind of fun.

Meh, I don't care for it either way. The damage threshold variable will take care of bad aiming by forcing a rage anyways. Speaking of which, it has been there for over a year. It was there to prevent people from continually resetting the standard damage accumulator.

Okay, so after playing with version 2.0 for some time now, my opinion of the new ability, bleed-out, added to the Stalker, has changed a bit to the negative.

There's a couple of things wrong with it, I feel. Feedback time:

1:

It can be difficult to identify if you're taking hits from your flank, or if you're just 'bleeding out'. In the middle of chaos, bleed-out, simply isn't clear cut enough to the players.

In practice you'll find yourself turning around looking for a threat(s) that many times simply isn't there. You could have used that time better if you knew that there was no threat from behind. This is kinda bad gameplay, imo.

2:

When the players have body armor there's simply no indicators that you're effected by bleed-out, because bleed out doesn't ignore body armor, so there's no screen splash effect. This feels a bit lackbuster, imo.

In short I've come to miss the old Super Stalker, but I love the new Husk/Patty, so what to do...lol.

I agree with Hippox. Every time I'm bleeding I automatically start to look around to find who is hurting me.

Maybe you could try to set HUDKillingFloor(P.Controller.myHud).VomitHudTimer in BleedingPawns.addPawn()? This will change color of the health digits on HUD to yellow, like when player gets into Bloat's vomit.

Not sure about what this all mean. It might be my own fault somehow, but maybe it is not? I'd thought I post it to be sure. The game instance seemed to continuing working fine, though, but the console stopped updating messages.

Hrm..are you using the latest version, 2.0.1? If so, guess my attempt to fix the None issue didn't actually work....By chance, would you happen to know what occured around the time of the None spam? And yeah, I'll do something about the HUD to make it obvious not distracting. Yellow digits sounds like a good idea.

Actually, I was just using V2.0 with the missing serverpackage added manually. I didn't know you changed anything else in V2.01, so I didn't bother updating it. lol. I'll report back if the issue comes back after updating it. :)

Ah ok. Yeah I saw this None problem happen before so I implemented a fix in 2.0.1. What happens is if a player dies while poisoned or bleeding, the code still tries to apply the slow down / bleed However, because the player is dead, it just spams the None error in the log file as there is no player on the field.

How's the next update coming along, Scary ghost? It's been a while since the 2.01 version. I take it you haven't made any ninja changes to 2.01, like the yellow hud you talked about? I haven't played in a while, because I had to reinstall my Windows a while ago, so wouldn't know.

One other thing I dare to ask of you:

Is there a very simple way to disable the stalker bleed out effect in the source code for personal recompiling? Like editing a line out, changing a value? Doesn't matter if it is a crude way of during it to me. PM me if you like.

I suppose a alternative version without the last stalker change is out of the question, at least for testing, right?

Edit:

Changing bleedPeriod to =0.000000 and maxBleedCount to =0 does the job. Doesn't *seem* to cause any major issues for me. Sorry I am noob.

I just played a game on KF-farm with a couple of friends and the Patty got sorta stuck on one of the corners of the big farm with the tower. He just went back and forth in a small line until he was hurt enough to clock himself which fixed him. This was with one player left. Is this a normal but rare issue for the Patty? Or might it be related to SuperZombies perhaps? I haven't seen it before.

I just played a game on KF-farm with a couple of friends and the Patty got sorta stuck on one of the corners of the big farm with the tower. He just went back and forth in a small line until he was hurt enough to clock himself which fixed him. This was with one player left. Is this a normal but rare issue for the Patty? Or might it be related to SuperZombies perhaps? I haven't seen it before.
