He's one of my all-time faves.. specifically because of the intelligence in his lyrics and his drive to raise hip-hop to a higher level. I've seen 5 of his shows over the years, in SF, mostly at the Red Devil Lounge. He was signing and throwing these tennis balls into the crowd one night..

Now something sad... one of my musical heroes, Alex Chilton, died last week. But his great music will live forever. RIP Alex :(
