If my ping wasn't so atrocious on Russian servers I would be all over this. Are there any North American servers running this?

Just finished a campaign and it was a lot of fun.

You know, some of the problems revealed during testing may have been overstated.

Player numbers were absolutely not an issue today, even though one side won the campaign.

The beta test group may have been too representative of the RO2 community in sense that fall off would be extragerated.

I like the transferring of manpower

Can you elaborate please? On this and how the campaign works in a nutshell? I won't be able to play until next week sometime and I wanna know.

I can imagine this would be another great selling point to set RO2/RS apart if it's working ..... ;)

Understood. What I meant is, go experience it despite the issue with ping. Hopefully or eventually someone in the NA side will add it to their server.

Depending how well your team did on the map, the following map will carry over the results and you start off with the manpower that you left off from the last map. Now I'm not totally sure whats its base on (kills, caps, reins) but I'm sure someone here could explain in more detail.

Is this going to appear anytime soon officially? The one game I played was really fun, and I can't find the server that was running the mode now.

Judging by the response from this thread, an unfinished version of a feature that they were unsure of ever releasing has garnered run-away success. Perhaps TWI should take this as a sign and put finishing the MC feature higher on their list of priorities.

It seemed fairly functional when it was being used, no bugs (that I noticed) or crashes.

I'm just wondering now what could be added to it. Might lead to balance issues, but stuff like commanders having to manoeuvre artillery pieces behind the lines or something (the implication being a team unable to use rockets/heavy arty if they fail to do so).

It seem to run ok. I didnt notice any bugs. What I do remember is feeling like I was playing a more in-depth purposeful game while pubbing. Another cool feature is that winning side gets to decide which map they'll play and whether they defend it or attack. In between the maps The server keeps tracks of what maps each side has control of and thats how you decide where you want to advance too.

You might have stumbled upon something here...

I really don't see how they would get away with that.

During RO2's initial release it was touted as a new feature. This would be a "revisited" feature.
The more likely scenario is that RO2 gets multiplayer campaign patched in to coincide with RS's launch, to get more publicity for both games.

Well, since they are clearly trying to market the game to the casual people and we here at the forums are not their target audience I'd say they can get away with a lot more than this...
