I would go for the Logitech G5 as well, buying the cheapest mouse is not always the smart thing.. I have the older MX500, and had it for over a year now, its still basically as good as new. You get what you pay for, and more so with Logitech IMO.

The G7 is wireless, that is the charger and wireless adapater for it's batteries. It has two li-ion battery packs and a power level guage on the side of the mouse. So as one runs out you can just pop it out and slide in the fully charged spare in moments. Then the empty battery can be charged while you continue to use the mouse. It does solve one of the key issues with wireless mice.

I still say the G5 is a good choice though. I have mine set to 5 levels of sensitivity, and every few days as I get used to a higher level I knock it up another notch to improve response as i get used to it. The shape is also very comfortable for myself as a right handed with fairly big paws. My only gripe would probably be the lack of a 2nd side buitton. But you can set individual profiles for different games and bind the tilt wheel to 2 different actions and use that for extra controls etc.

Well, cheap mouses (mice?) suck in general, atleast in my experience you get what you pay for,

If you buy the real cheap ones, youll get sticky buttons or maybe loose buttons, bad response, and so on and so on, and on top of that they only last a couple of months.. so buying a "real" mouse the first time is an investment worth making IMHO. because buying 6 cheap ones a year that all suck is more expensive than buying one that will last 2 years and that doesnt suck.

mx518 the end, have it, love it, extra buttons help over the g5 or g7/

Alternately you could try a mouse trap, that should solve your problem... :p

Well the G5 has only 1 side button...

BUT, and this is a big but, it has a tilting wheel. You can set the tilt up to be virtually any keystroke etc. Atm for RO I use left tilt for transmit over VOIP and right tilt for prone.

$40 but it's worth it, I have an Mx510. Probably one of the investments I've ever made.
Really, you don't want to buy a cheap mouse, or keyboard. A good, ergonomic mouse will make a huge difference for your hands (I used to get cramps all the time 'til I got the MX510), and will help your online playing.

mx1000 also has tilt wheel, making a total of 8 assignable buttons + left/right click.
