Yeah I had a few fun games with pvt.pile :)
Unfortunately many people are without honour and will sooner target a musician than an actual soldier. Guess the slow-moving target is too tempting, even when the buffs weren't on :p
After having been killed by honourless dogs a few times we did a last round (I believe it was the last round as musicians at least), where unfortunately pile got killed by a rifleman, and I nearly got my head cut off by a cavalryman. But the cavalryman didnt hit me good enough and he bumped into a wall.
Before he could turn his horse around and run away I stabbed my short sword into his horses head and as he fell down to the ground I killed him.
Rage of the angry musician :p

Yup, I knew your name ringed a bell. Too bad half the Austrian team decided to ragequit after the first round :(

It was a nice LB nevertheless, I like the small improvements they have added to the game with the DLC (like better movement, animations etc)

There are a few different benefits like increased accuracy but currently most servers have them turned off due to increased lag :(

Are you playing on low settings? I remember some Mount & Musket videos looking better :/

The Napoleonic DLC looks far better IMO than regular Mount and Musket. Those have to be low settings because the game looks quite a bit different on my PC (on max).

They have added some nice improvements to the engine such as better lighting, destructible environments (to a degree), better net code, and I think even something like parallax mapping might be in there. Some of the maps have insanely huge draw distances which actually makes them run somewhat slow on my fast PC.

It's basically Mount and Musket but improved in basically every way possible. Get it.

I'll be the first to admit I was one of the players without honour...LOL When I see a guy running around playing a flute I just want to skewer him with my lance. :)

"hmmm, there's 50 enemies in front of me... i'll try and shoot the defenseless one playing his flute!" i know it's very tempting to kill musicians, but pls don't do it (as long as the buffs are deactivated). when they actually do something it's legitimate to kill them first.

i can't stop playing commander battle mode... it's just too epic! with macro buttons the command system becomes very user friendly and the mode in general is just pure genius! tw should definitely do something similar with warband, give every player a small squad not a whole weapon type.
i already have almost ~600 hours in warband, i have no idea where this number will be in a few months time...

I love this game. Its like RO2 in Napoleonic times!!!
A dream come true. Except their does not seem to be a single player campaign.

Hey All, I'm new to this awesome game and i had a few questions. How exactly do you go about getting into a regiment? I know I read somewhere that there are open server line battles on Tuesdays and Fridays which i will now be joining but i would also like to play line battles ALL the time. Any help for this newbie would be much appreciated.

i'm still hooked on cb... i think there is no cure ;)

some recommendations to get in the mood for the game:

waterloo
imho the most epic movie about this era.

sharpe
no comment, just watch it if you haven't already!

hornblower
8 part series about a midshipman in the early 19th century. i recently watched it, it's surprisingly well made!

if you know any similar stuff that is worth watching, please post!

(i know it's a bit off-topic, but this thread seems to be the melting pot for those who are interested int that era.)

There's always War and Peace, if you have eight hours and a tolerance for subtitles. It features Austerlitz briefly, Borodino quite thoroughly, and the entire sequence of the sacking of Moscow is intense as ****.

Oh yes, most expensive film(s) ever :D

Borodino by itself is beyond epic (admittedly dated a tiny bit), but then the Moscow part is out of this planet. The cinematography of those shots is a sight to behold. I'm watching it again as soon as I get those exams out of the way ;)
