More women are playing video games

Poop like Singstar, Sims, Solitaire and Buzz aren't real games, so that narrows it down a bit. Though I know some specimen who play serious stuff like Team Fortress 2, MGS4 and WH 40k: Dawn of War.
i dont care what the paper says, i still know that 90% of people online who say they are girls are really just creepy guys. especially in mmorpgs
More like 'hardcore'.
Hardcore gaming = what we do
Casual gaming = The Sims, brain / puppy training games, karaoke games, Wii etc.
It may be true that more women play games, but 90% of them stick to the second category.

I know four girls that are playing on-line but its limited to WOW/Conan.
One of them, Julie went into a semi deep depression when her person got robbed of vital attributes, but she's doing fine now.
I even tried to get her playing RO but I'm afraid its a no-go.
Another, Steff loves flying (my) helicopter in ArmA but she's a FireMAN so that don't count.
Life was safer when women stayed in the kitchen burning bacon as they say up North.
