LOL

This made me burst out laughing in the Helsinki terminal while waiting for my flight. Startled quite a few Finns.

We aim to please :)

This did actually make me think of something:

The tracks for HoS have yet to be mastered so I'm going to plead that they don't get sucked in to the "loudness war" where the soundtrack is a constant wall of noise with no dynamics. You've seen the genuine (Zetsumei) and attempted (sorry Hoak/Heycarnut, the Quad 303 isn't current dumping) audiophile e-peenery in this thread so give us a reason to pump up the volume on the speakers and experience the quiet passages and glorious booming crescendi whilst waiting for the halftrack to respawn because SS-HitlerWittmann1994 has driven off on his own, reversed it into a ditch and annoyed the entire server by spamming "getin halftruck plis sory my englisch". Just remember: "ve haff vays of increasing das volume" (I think that's the saying?)

All I know is
I play video games passionately.
Sell hamburgers during the day.
And once listened to the Van Morrison collection for a year straight.
I hope it wasn't fake.
I just might die!!

Arm Chair Question

Arm Chair Question

Hey MDesigner do you get a lot of jealous, frustrated, arm chair musician/sound designers trying to bring you down in front their peers just because they wished they had your success and talent? I bet it happens all the time hey. Not that I'm saying there is one in this thread, just a random curiosity I guess.

Love the music! Please share more when you can.

You may not like the interchange between me and Sam, but we as participants argued points, and did not need to resort to personal attacks / ad hominem as you and a few others seem to use as a crutch.

I respect him for that. Differences of opinion, and debate, does not transmogrify someone into an *** just because they don't share your point of view.

You are absolutely correct, I was thinking of the later 405.

I actually have a 405 mark 1 in the closet, I personally don't trust that thing fully and I don't want my ESL's fried. The 303 was created specifically for the 57's so that's why I use the 303 end and not the 405.

Ever see / hear the HQD system? Stacked 57s, hartley subwoofer, and decca ribbon tweeter each side with electronics from Mark Levinson (from the earlier days of his commercial work). Friggin' brilliant sound.

I've seen it on pictures, so I only heard the page being flipped :p.

I'm a student so I don't have that much money. I'd like to get a sub especially as my set doesn't go below 30hz which can be annoying at times, but I'm afraid that I won't get one balanced well enough with the rest and will then end up with something boomy, unless I would be spending major dough.

Although we're getting a bit off topic here, lets just hope that we get some of the churman mastered tracks in a little while :D.

Build one! Really. Look into an open-baffle design with a compensation circuit for the roll-off below where cancellation takes hold, and you can get something that will integrate very, very well with stats. Only kind I ever liked with mine (I utterly lack mechanical skill, so I farmed that out.)

Take a look at the work of Siegfried Linkwitz, a very very smart local guy that is hugely generous with his time and designs (I used one for a modified heaphone circuit for binaural recordings). He has dipole suwoofer design kits at http://www.linkwitzlab.com/ and if you're ever in this neck of the woods we can pay him a visit.

Or find one of these http://www.regonaudio.com/Celestial%20Sytem%206000.html and sell the Sl600, keeping the bass units. I still have my complete set, the subwoofer is still superb after all these years, with a very clever spaced dipole design that lowers the roll-off knee. Can be had cheap, and you'll have better luck being in Europe finding a set.

I can talk audio until your ears fall off - rather than go so far OT, feel free to PM me if the build it idea strikes home. I can help with the circuit design.
