More players than l4d :O

yes but it's mostly just L4D players saying that KF sucks. I have yet to see someone go onto a L4D forum and bash it and say that KF is better. They all come here and troll us. It's a one sided pissing contest.

But does this really justify any senseless L4D bashing on these forums? It doesn't matter to me what they say, and I'm pretty sure nothing we say really matters to them.

Agreed. It's far too often that people here compare the two, when the only thing they have in common is that you kill zombies with various weapons. In fact, I'm not sure why you followed this statement up with many comparisons. I could counter all of them but there's really no point, everything between them is far too subjective to be able to call 'better'.

Actually, allow me to reply to one thing you said:

Errr, more content does not necessarily mean better replay value. Sure there are some nice new weapons to add more variation, but the core gameplay is still the same thing: Wait for zombies to spawn, kill them, wait for the next ones to spawn, kill them. Basically L4D's survival mode, although you have a bigger map to run around in. How could a person not realise this unless they were the stupidest person on earth! (don't take that personally, I just want you to understand how silly such a statement sounds)

The majority of the custom maps for KF are ****. As are the majority of custom maps for ALL games. Quality =/= quantity. This goes for skins and weapons too.

L4D needs BALANCE to it because VERSUS is a major part of the game. It also has no need for 4 types of assault rifle when you find them throughout the game. KF is so unbalanced right now.

As for skins, none official? But theres a world of custom skins out there... especially for Zoey ><

And maps... there are quite a few good custom campaigns out there... and these contain 5 maps on a scale far great than KF. There are also quite a few good standalone survival maps.

The games are nothing like each other so you can't apply the same rules for 'good or bad'.

doesn't make a whole lot of sense for me to go post in the l4d forums since i don't like that game. so why do you post in the kf forums? seems like you're just asking to be pissed off.

I like em both, i just felt i should correctly your clueless whining and point out why you should try and find a reason that can't be disproven by using evidence rather than opinion.

@KON, Thats why we have our own server with our own config that actually makes it hard for Survivors. Its just unfortunate the vanilla config is so stupidly easy for survivors.

How can you play CS:S?
I've pretty much only played it a few times, but I can imagine online play on CS; in every server there will be an 8-14 year old on a mic.

It doesn't surprise me. Left 4 Dead is an alright game but there's not much replay value in it. KF feels more fleshed out, especially with the update.

you think its because of that?

i though it was because of the FREE WEEKEND FFS

once the free weekend ends well see how many stays

the numbers tomorrow will tell more. the peak today still included the players from the freeweekend.....highest of the weekend btw at almost 25,000 ;)

i see the average players and that's a good sign. 6,000+ compared to 900 for the month before the update.

still expect the numbers to move up a little

exactly....considering the size of TW and how well known (or not known for that matter) Killing Floor is, i consider post-update KF to be a very good and decently popular game that should peak daily around 4-6k. it's not ever going to sell as much as a L4D or CoD, but that's ok. i like having a good not too big, not too small sized community. i am still actually surprised that as many people are playing post-sale/weekend as there are right now, and that's definately not a bad thing :)

I'd say 6000 is a good number. When it peaked at 24,000 or so getting into a game was chaotic...servers would fill as soon as they launched. One second it would say 0/6, you'd press connect, and it would be full...

Thank GOD I made my own server.:D

1 thing you have to remember is that if there were 24,000 PAYING customers there would be countless more servers available for them to play on. So that wouldn't really be an issue.

Then again it has to compete with the Left4Dead 2 Demo pre-order release today (assuming Valve time is still on schedule), so i'd expect it to drop slightly for a bit.

I'm staying... and I've dragged a pair of friends down with me.

I've played L4D since day one and have L4D2 on pre-order, but by no means consider the gameplay elements of either Source or UT engines comparable.

Granted, both games are about popping the skulls of shambling meat-sacks, I personally find the perk system of KF preferable over L4D's run-run-run-shoot-shoot-shoot-die-die-die style.

I would strongly recommend against starting a flame thread against Levvaded, this seems an inhered trait of most Source-based games, and this is an Unreal-based game :p
