Right now, I play mainly Hard, seems like a good level for me. The games are not too long, at night times I can have a choice of servers where my ping is less than 100, and if your team has inexperienced players it doesn't affect much. My perks are all 6 except for Zerk and Fail-bug. So I would be a lvl 6er that you might see in a Hard game.

For me this game is all about the team. Team=most important thing. Above all else is the TEAM. Leveling up is a part of this game, but not THE most important thing, TEAM is. (again, my opinions)

I have played with a lot of level 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, and 6's that frustrate me. Sometimes their playing style just makes me pissed off because I want to have a really smooth game of kf with no bumps or rough edges. But then I realize, that guy is part of my team. And we are supposed to be surviving and saving the world or something. lol. Even if he's dancing all around the map leading zeds into my face I need to try and keep him alive. This is a co-op game, and after I get over MYSELF, i realize that frustrating players are sort of part of the game(just as frustrating people are part of real life :p). At the end I try not to get frustrated, have a good time, heal others before myself - and above all, work with my group to get past patty. Some games, I feel like I directly impact the game more by leading at the front line, but other games I feel more like a support role for the team and help out when things get tough, and some games I feel like I do almost nothing because the team is rocking.

I've seen games in HOE where a lvl 6 support specialist did nothing except sit and weld a door for waves 7-10. So there are some people who feel that getting kills and damage points is not the only way to be helpful to the team.

I love lvl6s sharpies who cry because I ignite scrakes on hard and lower, even though they have an xbow or m99.

boohoo. Anything below suicidal doesn't matter.

I play hard sometimes, usually the last couple of games of the night, nice way to wind down. I like to play sharp on hard servers but I will leave if I find myself high on the scoreboard, I'm not there for kills just to help out if I can.

Get your own server... Or only play with your friends who are like-minded...

2 easy ways to play the game the way you think it should be played.

I'm sorry. I don't understand what the problem is. However, I'll try to list some of the MANY reasons I play on hard and suicidal more then HOE.

1. Ping. I've never seen a suicidal or HOE server that isn't 130+ Whereas, I can reliably find servers at 40 on hard.
2. I'd rather play with random trolls, then the elitist pricks who frequent HOE and to a lesser extent suicidal. Not saying everyone is, but its a fairly large number in my experience.
3. Achievements.
4. FUN. HOE requires strategy, while it may not be as much of a challenge to play on hard, sometimes I want to just kick back and blow stuff away. Without having to worry about maximizing my damage potential and doing everything JUST right to survive HOE.

Lastly, I seem to remember paying for the game myself. Don't take it personal, but if you get bent out of shape about the way I play MY game, then you need to go outside some more. No disrespect.

LOL, I totally agree with you, but there were 4 6s on a Normal game I had with a friend today Q.Q 2 Medics (the awesome guys), a SS (Trigger-Happy), and a Demo (UGH I hate this prick, he killed everything).

I am sad to say I do this a lot because I'm playing with friends. I only have 2 level 6s, but I have a lot of experience because I play medic too much, so leveling other perks is taking a while, so I know how to handle the game, where most people on normal and hard only have the basics (I have 130 hours), and I just take kills/ let the team die without my help because its a lost cause (Like when 2 or 3 fp and a scrake get right in their faces)

1) Agree, ping is ALWAYS on the higher end when it comes to suicidal and HoE servers. I dont know why, but it always seems that way

2) Im mixed. I rather play with people who arent vote-kick-button trigger fingers. Sometimes I feel up to the challenge and go with the "eliteist" and other times I go with the random people. Sometimes I run into a random person whos reallllly good, or really bad. Thats just the luck of the draw.

3) Also agree. I played all the maps on normal when I was in my low level, like 2's and 3's, and then I did all the maps on hard when I had my medc and sharpy at around 5, and my others were mixed from 2 - 4

4) Fun? Whats that? Lol, jk, but I agree, that on a casual day, playing on something that isnt too difficult, but difficult enough so that its not a walk-in-the-park is always good. Lord knows, how in HoE, one wrong move, or one missed shot can truly bring down the whole team.

No disrespect taken, but if you read what I wrote in the original post, I wasnt acusing people of being noobs, jerks, idiots, etc. for being a level 6 and playing on Hard difficulty, I was just asking if:

1) Does anyone else see a lot more level 6's playing on Hard servers?
2) Why do people that are level 6's play on hard, espcially if they have maxed out all perks?
3) And if they havent maxed out all their perks, then why arent they switching to them to help level them up, rather than stick to a perk or two, for the whole game?

Im not accusing level 6's for being skill less people, because they had to have done something right in order to get that high up, but if they play on Hard servers just so they can PUBstomp players, brag, and talk sh!t, then it really isnt fair for the other players, because it takes away their ability to play too. Grant, anyone can just leave the server and find another server where they are able to help out more with the team.

LOL, I totally agree with you, but there were 4 6s on a Normal game I had with a friend today Q.Q 2 Medics (the awesome guys), a SS (Trigger-Happy), and a Demo (UGH I hate this prick, he killed everything).

Cant tell if troll or serious.

What did make me lol was that my friend has been hacked on steam recently, and is using a backup account while he gets his back. He bought KF for the secondary acc because it's like

Personally i play on hard because all the Sui and HoE servers are either 0/6 or 6/6.

Thus i go to the highest server difficulty with players on it.

That is, when i'm not on the modded server. After L6 modded servers are a good way to level up from L0 without changing anything.

This, this, this, this.

This.

I barely even see any Suicidal and up servers in comparison to Hard and below. Hard is still respectably challenging in most groups, though. People aren't super organized, and even level 6s can't get past that. I really want to play on Suicidal most of the time, but at least half of the time I join one of those servers it's a grueling kiting run where I takes an hour per wave.

Seriously, kiting sucks ***. All the kiting runs I did were running laps around the map and killin maybe 10 zeds per lap. **** that.

I will add one thing to this as well as I don't think it's been mentioned yet, the age of a player might be a reason they play on hard servers too, the oldest gamer I've seen to date is 76 years old and he was a Battlefield 2 player, obviously as you get a little older the reflexes are not as sharp as they once were so maybe lowering the difficulty is a way to still feel challenged even at a mature age.

They might be a little older than most gamers but they can still kick some behind ;)

Since changing our server to hard, we've seen a lot more level 6s join. It's always risky to generalize, but for the most part the level 6s that are fun to play with make up the minority, and it adds a level of frustration to other players on the server.

Lastly, I seem to remember paying for the game myself. Don't take it personal, but if you get bent out of shape about the way I play MY game, then you need to go outside some more. No disrespect.
Consider that your actions impact other people, who also paid for the game. A few tryhard level 6 players can really diminish the fun of the other four players on the server, who instead of leveling perks spend most of the game standing around holding their dicks. I've had one brand new player I convinced to buy the game stop playing because one level 6 was doing his best to solo 6 player normal.

It's really not much different from those games where the team is camping, and one guy joins and decides he wants to run off by himself to kite everything. When 1-2 people ruin the game experience for the other players, I see no problem vote kicking them.

Don't get me wrong, some L6s are pretty chill. They just want to hang out, usually offer advice to newer players, and generally work as a team. But the level 6s that stand out in people's minds are the ones that do their best to kill everything that moves, ask others for money, are sometimes verbally abusive, and just all around abrasive players.

lol, I have to agree with you there. The majority of the players that Ive met in the game, are all in the 20's to 30's. Heck, I joined a server last week with a bunch of 30yo men and a woman who such a beautiful voice (i know, Im dumb for saying that). After getting to play with them and get to know of few of them, I found out that the woman was 27yo. I guess Im the one of the few young ones out there, since im only 21.

2) Why do people that are level 6's play on hard, espcially if they have maxed out all perks?

Because I'm a middle-aged casual player.

Hell on Earth is too difficult for me. I can play Suicidal, but for the most part, I just don't feel like making the effort. I just want to shoot some zombies before bedtime.

Forgive me if someone has already asked this, but--have you tried talking to lvl 6s, and explaining that you're trying to level up? If I go all out, it's not because I'm trying to hog the kills--it's because I'm trying to do my part, and help the team win. If somebody asked me to ease off, I would.

I haven't been playing as much lately, but I think my main issues for playing as a level 6 on Hard were:

- General lack of servers available on difficulties higher than Hard. This is anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt.
- Still getting used to Hard difficulty.

To be honest, I used to see level 6's playing on Normal difficulty a decent amount, too. That seemed a bit extreme, but people have fun in different ways.

I find a lack in Sui+ servers as well.

I play on Hard servers because all my friends haven't played this nearly as much as me. Hell, if I fancy winding down with some casual play, I've even been on the occasional Normal server. Not going to change because of a fraction of players complaining. Just going to have to duke it out.

I don't play Hard with my level 6 perks much but I will probably start doing so more now that I am level 6 in my 4 main perks (Medic, Support, Commando, SS).

I would like to start playing Suicidal more but it is pretty hard to find games.

Most of my friends don't like the game. I have added people to my Friends list that I have played with but I am not really the type to go around asking people to play with me.

There are rarely more than 3-4 Suicidal servers that have a ping less than 150 for me and usually at least one or two of those is running a custom map (I am not a big fan of most of them) and the rest are usually mid-round and I don't want to join in that late. Also I usually have a limited time to play so I don't want to sit around for a long time waiting for a game to finish so I can join in, I would rather jump into another game.

I will probably start playing Berserker and Demo more but I will be playing Hard with level 6 perks, though I don't hve anyone to impress and let the lower level players do their thing and just hang back and help.a
