I saw that some people don't like the fact that there is a unusable flashlight on the Mp5, or the M4 + m203 can't go semi, so i had an idea, lets use the mp5 as it is a perfect example. If i press f, it turns on the flashlight, and press f and it turns off or if i press (new hotkey) =, it turns the gun semi, and then back. but if i press alt fire it still shoots darts. this isn't ment to start a flame war, i just think this small thing could make the game better as it add next to nothing and adds new things to do.

I always thought that "flashlight" was the nozzle for the medic dart?

Nope the ejector for the medic dart is on top of the barrel and a little bit to the side. Look closer on the pic:

hmmm... it is quite obvious when you pointed out these parts. I wonder why TWI ignored that. They could've just remodelled it cuz it looks like the flashlight is out of juice 24/7 :p

Man, I was gonna make a thread to suggest just that.

Damn nice work, yo! Btw I was thinking that you should recolour the front/rear stock. Would it be possible for you to change the model's butt stock to be a little more like this?:

It'd make a fantastic official addition to KF, IMO.

hey, braindead, can you make me one that still has the med thing and the red dot, but make it so i can only use the flashlight by pressing f and if you can find a useless hotkey, can you also make it have select fire, i just want it as proff of consept. because thats the way i think it sould go. and to make it so people can go semi on any gun and turn a flashlight on any gun that has it.

edit, can it also still have the od green?

I will try and have a look at it for you after I finish up on the mod but to be honest, that is going to take some coding, as both the light and the medic attachment use the same fire mode and I do not have a clue how I would separate them.

Plus the F key is hard coded into the pawn stuff and that would mean new classes for everything just to split it out.

p.s.

On this version of the MP5, what I have done is, when you switch on the flashlight, it changes to Burst fire mode and when it is off, it is regular full-auto. Is everyone ok with that?

Personally, I think that's really, really odd... I think it'll prove to be quite awkward at times.

But a burst fire function in KF? I haven't seen that before! You should totally put that to use elsewhere. Maybe you could make the M4 w/ M203 use burst fire as its primary function? Or maybe an edited 9mm pistol? There's lots that can be done with burst fire!

I've always thought that the M4s would be better off being burst-fire and single-fire only, but that's just me.

Weellllll, the main reason I did this was because, using a FL on full-auto is quite hard because it goes everywhere due to the recoil, which is why I assume, the dev's have never made an SMG with a FL attachment, so I compromised.
I really think it's a waste to have semi-auto on a smg, so that's why I went for burst/full auto.

Have a try of it and let me know what you think, as I can always change it at a later date.

ths, i just asked for the semi/auto because i want to see if all this can be added so like demo with m4 w/ 203 can go semi. but i just realy want that nice looking light to work. and would it do anything if the reason i chose f was because that was the defalt flashlight key? also, ths

Wait, so, in-game the flashlight jumps around a lot? Or just IRL? I don't think realism in KF is of any concern, especially considering how KF is hardly realistic or meant to be realistic in the first place. :confused:
