First to Fight Polish MOD?

First to Fight Polish MOD?

Somthing covering the first stages of WW2 in Poland would be awesome.
I know there are not alot of battles to cover but the potential is there for the tanks, weapons and charactors for polish and german troops. Some how the thought of attacking tanks on horseback seems like it would be really cool to use in FPS. The famous Polish Anti-tank gun would also be fun to try out. Mayby they could fight both german and russian troops in the same MOD lol. :IS2:

Have you scrolled through the list of currently being worked on RO2 mods? ;) There might be something to your liking... :D

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. co-op mod with all the enviromental hazards from the zone: radiation patches, anomalies, and even mutants.
Weapons depending on the faction.

Get out of here Sidorovich!
But in all seriousness that would be preety cool.

I for one would enjoy a Korean War mod, if not only to get more historical knowledge about it since I know barely anything about it.
Besides the uniqueness and rareness would be awesome, wich is something I love about all RO games.

I have been playing a LOT of Mare Nostrum with maxed out skill bots and it's been awesome.
Playing on some maps gives me the same feeling I get when I play Ostfront late at night in 50 player servers filled with highly skilled players.
Maps like Barida and TobrukCentral are magnificent. The artillery guns are so good I found myself using them without stop until I run out of ammo.
I have to tip my hat off to Sandstorm because the mod is very very good even tough it unfortunatly doesn't have barely no community besides the FightNight.PL guys that play all RO games/mods.

Shucks - glad you've enjoyed it! I wish we had a chance to push out another map pack and to give late in development maps like Crete more polish - the player base was already winding down.

Anyway, I too would love to see a Korean mod down the road... In Country: Korea ? :p

And now for something completely different:

An idea that has popped into my head a couple of times is a mod focusing on firefights between police and bank-robbers/criminals in the 30's. Rather realistic firefights that is, with lots of taking cover/surpressing fire etc. Maps for fewer players with tommy-guns and colts and whatnot. (I guess I just enjoyed the firefights and sounds in Public Enemies a lot).

I mean, has there ever been a single realistic game/mod with firearms that isn't based on war? It would be something different.

However, it would be a ton of work, and not enough interest. But still.

Its a bit cheesy i know.

But i would like some maps, of classic warmovies :)

Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory did it to some extent, with a couple of maps one inspired by kelly`s heros where you had to steel the gold from the bank and if memory serves (it seems so long ago) there was one based on "where eagles dare" with cables cars going up the mountain stage.

Infact as a seperate question how easy would it be to convert some of those old maps ?

Theres been a few of these, always in general discussion tho so:

Vietnam (getting one)
WW1 (getting one)
Pacific (getting one)
Star Wars
Medieval
Napoleonic/US Revolution/US Civil War
<- Prob only room for one of these, i'd be up for any of them :)
Korean would be cool too but would probably be lost between other mods.

Really don't think those would work (the ones in bold), especially not the second one. The warfare of those eras depends on massed volleys delivered from hundreds of troops at a time, as well as neat, very orderly formations. That and the fact that it would be virtually impossible to represent cavalry or Napoleonic artillery in this game with only 64 players per server.

I'm glad of what we'll be getting : Pacific, Vietnam and WW1 (I hope they get to release :) )

The only other thing I'd really like is a Western Front mod, which with the amount of Americans on these boards shouldn't take too long before becoming a reality (Darkest Hour 2 would kick ***)

I think we need to be realist tho, with the quite small amount of players that will want to play mods I don't think having 20 of them would be possible, only a handful would get played and that'd be very sad.

what do you guys think about a mod focusing exclusively on the the Second Battle of Fallujah?

The maps would essentially be small (or large?) sections of the city, including places like the notorious Jolan District, Industrial District, Mayor's Complex, South Fallujah, Jeghaifi Neighborhood etc.

My brother fought in the battle, Lima Company 3rd battalion/1st Marine Regiment , so he could possibly provide insider information on it.

The whole battle was rather unique as the Marines had to improvise a lot when fighting with rather proficient and experience combatants (most of them being foreign fighters from as far as Chechnya). Perhaps incorporate things like how the marines would blow holes through the walls using C4 to go from building to building.

Would be pretty cool in my opinion, especially if you include combined arms maps like with the LAV's.

It would be asymmetrical, but the insurgents would have the advantage of being the defender, as well as having access to a variety of passages such as rat holes. Maybe to further stress unfamiliarity on the part of the Americans, you can remove the minimap from the Marines, and only give it to the insurgents.

Hi, i will love to play that! We have already lot of ww stuff so it will be nice have something kind of fresh and difrent. Prohibition? Why not. We have mafia 1/2 but there is still lot of space to make something good in these area. Also something terro/swat kind of stuff, some hostage situations etc. There is lack of these stuff atm.

The Australian light Horseman attack on Beerasheba.

The last Succesful cavalry charge in history i believe.

And here is some form the Movie (Well worth watching...Great Bayo and Bolt action too with 303 rifles)
VIDEO:
The Lighthorsemen - Battle of Beersheba Part 2 - The Charge - YouTube

Also another would be the Boer War. Breaker Morant Mod or Rule 303 Mod.
VIDEO:
Breaker Morant 1981 TV trailer - YouTube

I think these would work really wel as mods, only need mapping, bolt action modifications and uniforms etc..

The light horsman would be harder...but the horse graphic models are already there...just need a mount and dismount system.... it would be intresting trying to shoot a mounted soldier at full speed.

Im actully getting really excited by this idea.

BTW.....how do imbed youtube Videos...dosnt seem to work me?

Something in the late late Medieval period, and the beginning of the Gunpowder age. Getting to see large cannon and mortar, as well as the simple hand cannons, mixed in with the last, most advanced crossbows, with knights still in the field, but shifting away from the massed infantry combat.

I like this idea. Red Orchestra modders should've always tried to make an Iraq war mod. All you get is Project Reality or Insurgency and its not modded that great at all.

I would love to see an "Insurgency: Done Right". Asymmetric gameplay is the key though. This is something the HL2 mod did not feature. It would change the gameplay up a lot compared to the sides which play roughly the same as found in all of the other mods.
