The COD series already do destruction, but unlike the Frostbite engine, their destruction is in 3 phases. 1) Complete car 2) Explosion 3) Destroyed car. There is no transition or gradual degredation of the area hit. It is there, then it is gone. All they have to do to have MORE is just add it to more surfaces than what they had. COD is now only about MORE anyway. More bling, more gore, more kills, more points oh, and more lag. The LESS is not mentioned but there is more of that as well. Less fun, less teamwork, less sense, less for competetive leagues...and less mods.

So, it more or less remains the same then...

Hey you heathens, dont speak down against old Allied Assault. For its time that was a great game ( probably the last of the large name WW2 shooters I actually liked ).

The music really is top notch.

I liked the game as well. Never cared much for Call of Duty, Allied Assault felt solid, CoD has always felt flat if that makes any sense.

The weapons didn't have any umph in CoD. I don't know if it was the animations or the sound design or what, but it felt like like I was plinking BBs at people.

The animations are great. But yes they do seem weak. But it is better than having the gun pointing in the air after 5 shots.

I don't know, it might be me, but when compared to the rest of the series, CoD 1 and UO had the best sounds, imo of course...

Nope, I and everyone else I know who played CoD1 and the later CoD's thinks so too.
Definitely true. I recently played through the MW2 Singeplayer campaign and among its major shortcomings was really bad sound design. Not only were the weapon sounds uninspired (or didn't even sound like a gun), the general audio work was not very well done. Specifically, editing and mixing was really poor -- there were many times when I couldn't even hear what the characters were saying because of all the action going on. Just sloppy and poor quality, really.

Keep in mind that while this is the most asinine move a publisher could make, you know full well that there are going to be a lot of people that buy this. From a business standpoint, they'd be stupid not to do something like this with how many players these games get.

Furthermore, there was a statement in that article saying that you can still play online as "normal" without this extra service.

Still stupid though.
