I guess he's meaning hardcore can be a bit too easy as you can just run around with a pistol and just one shot or quickly two shot people with no real skill involved.

Looking forward to this as its a fun game to piss about with when youve got 4-5 mates on voice, even better when you create your own fun with such made up games like capture the statue/fountain :D
Which is completely asinine and really backwards thinking if that's the case. Given that HC ditches the damn radar and actually makes enemies die when you shoot them instead of becoming sponges for bullets.

I hope not. Hardcore mode is the only reason I liked CoD4 multiplayer.

Even with the HC mode COD4 is really not anything special online unless you are playing some custom maps otherwise it feels like you are fighting in a shoebox.

ooo whose been reading the dictionary ;)

I do prefer hardcore mode , if im not fooling arround, mostly for the removal of the radar and as you said the whole bullet sponge thing is annoying, but because there is not any proper weapon sway/free aim/fatigue there isnt much skill and it comes down to who ever can fire first wins. I guess the same can be said for standard mode though so i dont really know what im trying to say here :p.

What i feel about hardcore mode is that it just doesnt feel quite right on COD for me, if i want to play a 'realistic' game ill load up RO or ARMA but for playing a game to mess about with mates ill play COD or TF2

What I mean is, after playing SC for an hour or two against wicked good people HC seems like a goddamn joke. Absolutely no aim required like in SC, no guard needed as it`s piss easy to flank enemies and such.

Soft is 3x harder imo, no matter who you play with. I actually have to aim and think to get a good score and death/kill ratio on SC when in HC it`s so goddamn easy.

I hope in MC2 they balance the weapons and do some other tweaking that will make HC harder and not a shooting gallery that it is now.

I hope the maps will be bigger though. More Overgrowns and Crossfire like maps would be awesome.

Yeah HC in it is stupid. Get shot in the foot by p90 and you die. It seems so much easier to pin one team down with spawn killing in HC too.

COD4 and possibly MW2 has Russian terrorists but in real-life there aren't any Russians out there that I know of that are terrorists, well you do get the odd mafia now and again.

They're definitely Russian. In the first teaser one of them says "S nami Bog," - "God is with us," and then his buddy tells him "no Russian."

Maybe these terrorists are Russian Orthodox zealots :D

Just from that trailer I can already tell how awesome it's going to be! :D Infinity Ward is one of those developers whose games always deliver(like Bethesda, Valve, DICE). Beating CoD4 sure will not be easy though, but unlike with Treyarch I think they're going to include many more features and bring it even further and not like in CoD:WaW which was just the same but different scenario or Vegas-Vegas2.

I disagree.

I agree, unless you refer to any IW game after CoD:UO. After that it was mainly rubbish.

(like Bethesda
The only good games Bethesda made were The Terminator: Future Shock and TESIII: Morrowind. The rest was either outrageously buggy or a dumbed down borefest with shiny graphics to please the easily impressed crowd that makes up the mainstream market.

Allright, I have to agree here.

Mirror's Edge was nice actually, but other than that, I can't think of anything worth playing from them.

Beating CoD4 sure will not be easy though
True, as IW is producing MW2. While CoD:MW was admittedly the best selling FPS to date, it wasn't the best. Gameplaywise it just felt like the original CoD with fancier shaders and M4s in it. Even the rather mediocre GRAW series was more enjoyable for me.

Disclaimer: all opinion, no fact in this reply. One thing I wonder for years though: why do you like RO, DraKon2K? Having followed your arguments for quite some time now, you're more into mainstream, shiny graphics games than games focusing on intriguing gameplay.

That was not expected, fighting Russian terrorists again. I understand that Russia plays a major role in foreign affairs during these times, but I imagine that going for Modern Warfare 2 wasn't a matter of choosing a setting and plot that is refreshing, but rather cashing in on the success of the first game. I'll probably play it anyway, because it's not like the Call of Duty games have been bad, they are just getting somewhat stale.

You mean from the 1 minute and somewhat seconds of material we've seen of the game?

I agree, unless you refer to any IW game after CoD:UO.
That would be after CoD since UO wasn't made by IW.

It's either germans, russians or arabs so there isn't much of a choice.

Be on the lookout for the June issue of Game Informer (should be in stores around the 15th of May). There's going to be something like a 10 page article on Modern Warfare 2.

Neither am I. I wouldn't even say that tactical FPS is my favourite genre, as I enjoy racing sims very much, as I do flight sims, round based tactic games like JA, good rpgs like the original Fallouts, The Witcher or most things from Bioware, casual games, the list goes on. Actually, it suffices to say that I can enjoy all genres except real time strategy and sports games.

It's just that I rather prefer good games over shallow games with good graphics.
