on the console? yes of course!
as all what matters there is how hyped the game is, not how good it is
on the PC? well, it didnt
ok so an incredibly overhyped game outselling its predecessor in the first week makes it sell incredibly well overall?
imo all this tells us that this game is simply overhyped to a degree where everyone buys it and doesnt even bother to inform himself
also 3% PC part is incredibly poor, while IW themselfes stated that the usual (and expected) ammount is 10%
the game will sell WAY worse after this huge hype is over

They where pulling it like crazy before the game was out. CNN got a hold of it and did a story. They did not want it out because of the content to persuade users to buy or not buy. In the US I know that it hit a nerve with several people. Else where I am not sure.
Now that they have sold millions of copies they do not care. It is just like all the other game play videos. They pulled them. They where telling the public that the game was hack free, IW net rocks, and could not be pirated. The pirated versions releasing videos before the official release hurt them. LOL. They were in mass editing mode before the release.

Though the more I think about it the more I think that it was just a marketing trick.
I'm going to bite the bullet and say that I think modern warfare 2 is fun to play online. I know I'm going to be ostracized and what not but I have a good time playing it with my friends. I'm a gamer and that means console and pc. Yes IW ****ed over pc gamers with no dedicated servers but that was their choice and doesn't make the the game any less fun. Anyone else with me or am I the only one? I play it on the 360 since all my friends play it on live.
Yes, it's fun. If I actually get to play it. I play it on PC but with all ports forwarded, no software and hardware firewall it still sometimes decides not to connect to IWNet.
But if you actually get to play, it's pretty damn fun. It's has it's annoyances, like any game right, but still.
the thing is by not having dedicated servers and modding competitive gaming is just killed off.
And while in all games often competitive games are not the largest group, they are often the most vocal and play the game for the most hours, and are because of that often a big part in word of mouth advertising.

Server hosting companies have lost out too so its not just gamers they have screwed over.
Multiplay.co.uk are a major hosting service in the UK. Their LAN event i series would not exist if it were not for the revenue made from server rental. The i series has been huge focus for fullmj to meet each other. I have met some great guys at these events and many great times have been had.
For people who don't understand what all the fuss is about with MW2: While a video game may seem insignificant, its not quite so. I have met a lot of good friends through the medium of computer games. A circle of friends and a community has been born, it goes a little deeper than just playing games together. IW have taken away the players control, you need control in order to build your community. If everyone did this there would be no hosting companies, there would be no clans and communities and there certainly would have been no beer drinking and decent curries for us fullmj guys.
Which is why i will not support IW or anyone else who follows the ideals IW have put in place. Giving them your money shows them your support which they do not deserve. While i do not condemn anyone who has purchased MW2, if your a member of a gaming community then you should have tried looking at the bigger picture first.
