I am quite interested after seeing that scene , but I wish there was more to it. Is that entire scene on rails? Can you move anywhere you want? I would expect way more security and opposition at airport than shown in this. Some of the death animations and crawling animations are limited. It would be cool if you could barricade yourself in and have hostages.

I see what you're saying. It is a level after-all that should be a challenge and offer different options to complete.

Its insane this is in the game. But Im definitly getting it.

At least you (the bad guy) gets it at the end, if thats any consolation...

So that level is seriously in? That wasn't some freaky build-up-the-rumour-mill-hype-leakage? Whoa, quite flabbergasting, I declare.

"Mommy, I want MW2!"
"But sonny, it's terrorist training simulator! We don't want you to become a terrorist!"
"No, no, it's not..."
"STFU I heard it on the news! Honey, call the psychlogist!"

I can already imagine that happening to many.

As interesting as it sounds to play as the bad guys, that video just looks rather odd. Just shoot around, no security etc.

Wow. That's disgusting.

Also, looks like MW2 isn't just screwing it up for the pc people but for gaming in general. If what's shown in the video is in the game this game is going to be quoted often in the media.

It would be funny if it was banned though. I mean, it's going to be banned or cut in the German version anyways, but now that it's terrorists shooting up airports it might even get banned in the US. If not outright banned, then at least stores won't carry it.

Might make it easier for some to stick to their boycotting plans. :)

Probably as a terrorist training simulator or something else and how it affects some kids and other bit overblown stuff.

But yes, it looks rather redundant. Playing as the bad guys is interesting idea and concept instead of the good ol' american\british\russian good guy and shooting the baddies, but just shoot around civilians? No security? What's the objective besides making 12 year old kids drool and say "WOAH COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL" ? It's bit confusing on that aspect.

Yeah, I think if they wanted to make the faction one is playing in that level look evil they could have made a bad-*** cutscenes or something. Maybe even a rendered one, like in the good ol' days.

But yes, as you said, the kids are going to love this.:(

Hello.

Hello.

Those who have been following my Sarcasm Letter To IW and Activision.

Another reason to ban MW2. One of the missions is to go through and airport and slaughter innocent people. This has gone a little to far. Watch the video while you can.

A couple of links to the Airport Level. Not the best however it give you an idea. I will work on finding a better one. Just found them after many hours of looking.

Yeah, the Rogue Spear and Urban Operations intros were especially effective in getting the point across that the terrorists were some pretty evil dudes. For those who have never seen them:

We have been killing civilians in computer games since 1997 or so i recall. Carmageddon encouraged you to run over people to gain small increments of time, which came in handy when the **** in the fan. GTA has always given you the freedom of staging your own mass murders. You can pull off some pretty cold blooded **** if you have the urge, which i am sure everyone will have done at some point.

The airport mission is just taking the above but adding it to a pre scripted event. I think its hypocritical to call an outrage on this if you have at least defended games such as GTA or Carmageddon in the past.

I would not be surprised if this mission gets cut from the game entirely. In fact i am suspicious if this video is just a viral marketing stunt.

Even if it's genuine I see no reason why they couldn't have had it viewed from the players eyes, but not given him weapons control or anything. Like the intro for CoD4. If the player is unable to change the outcome of the mission (i.e at the end you always get left behind) then I fail to see the point of giving the player control.

I don't have a problem with any violence in games but it just seems like using poor taste to generate publicity.
