I looked into that as well before i posted it... I googled a little and found many variants of MKBs... some fits the silhoulete so its very hard to tell...

that's quite true. there's also the MKb 42(W), which is even more similar. The difference I'd note there is that the MKb 42w's rear sight is ahead of the magazine while the stg's is right over it. Either way, cool footage, I'll have to watch the whole thing sometime!

MKB42 COULDT be in Stalingrad because germans started making this gun in november 1942, and they made only 50 MKBs in november. But german soilders in Stalingrad already were in siege in November.

Hey, this molecule of oxygen I've just exhaled was at Stalingrad! IT MUST APPEAR IN THE GAME!

its also hard to say whether that footage is from stalingrad at all. Just because it's a documentary or history show on stalingrad doesn't mean the editors and producers hunted through clips to find accurate footage from that time. I've seen clips from out of place on a bunch of history shows before.

and just one gun still wouldn't justify having it as an unlock and being in the game, for me at least

My grandfather was a medic in Stalingrad. Why is he not in the game? He deserves some recognition! Stupid inaccurate game! Herbert I will fight for your honor! ;)

But seriously. With enemy weapon load outs, spawn on SL, upgrades, progression etc., the presence of the MkB is the least of my complaints

The Mkb was created and buildet in "Suhl" by C. G. Haenel, this tells you the (H)!
and (W) is for Carl Walther in "Ulm".
Both weapons got long gas tubes

For once, I really dont give a sh*t about whether it was there or not. I just cant stand people making a big deal out of it, failing to understand, its just a game and its meant to be fun and rewarding and is it suits me (and many other players) it succeeds in that direction. When I saw that footage, I just thought it could end that hate along the forums

Oh, so it's worth commenting about when it suits your views, and you suddenly stop giving a crap when it turns out that it doesn't.

People make a big deal out of it because it's a gimmicky weapon that breaks the setting and is not unproblematic gameplay- and balance-wise.

I think somewhere down the line the weapon won't be in the Stalingrad maps. We have people making maps consistently, a lot of which aren't even in Stalingrad. Once the game expands, covering the whole of the Eastern Front, mappers will have more freedom to edit classes and weapons.

I think the G41(W) was common enough to merit being in the game in low numbers. I understand it was rare but they were around.

Varying sources put production figures between 40,000 and 145,000 units. Again, these rifles saw a high attrition rate on the Eastern front.
