I wasn't able to enter the elevator although my multitool was pointing towards the elevator.
After pausing the game and continuing the next day, the multitool was pointing to the shotgun near the admin offices (although I already picked it up before)
and some other things were undone as well.
After running up and down the whole level several times, I eventually used another bug and squeezed myself between the elevator and the shaft until I was able to put my hand from the outside of the elevator onto the greenly lit hand inside it. I then advanced to the next mission.
