Is anyone else experiencing this? Some maps, especially with larger amounts of people, can be totally utterly 110% unplayable at 60FPS because of microstuttering. It happens on maps with complex buildings and lots of objects, like Station and Barracks. It's as if the game starts using my HDD swap file for loading objects in the game when I get into the buildings.

It's the sound problem. The game stutters when you shoot your weapon, when bombs explode, etc. So when you play with more people, there's more gunfire in general, hence the game stutters more.

No, it's fine in station in the beginning, but when you get into the building it starts stuttering. Especially near the soviet end of the building. I'm not even playing the game anymore because of the stutter, it's so annoying.

I get this as well, especially when firing the PPSH/MG34, it turns me away from it.

I notice exactly the same. There seems to be some audio related stutter but then there is also the microstuttering as you described it. The worst maps are Station ( especially the part you mentioned), Barracks ( especiall in building with many details) and Pavlov' House.

It's been around for a while, yeah, so the best we can do is just wait and hope that one day they'll get around to fixing it.

Please post your system specs too.

AMD 1055 @ 3.4 ghz
4 gig dd3 ram at 1400ish (ocd 1333 with cpu)
ati 6870 1 gig.
VIA HD audio (onboard) (drivers checked, dropped sound quality in game to low and 8 chan).

Also had exact same issues with gfgt 240 card in the same places as everyone has mentioned.

Even with performance increases in patches the game still has the same issues in the same places on the same maps.

Not entirely related, but maybe this could help someone out. I recently upped my sound quality on my sound card. It was set to 44 Hz, I upped it to 48 Hz. It didn't make the game run any faster, but it did stop the sound from crackling, and generally sounding naff.

Q6600 OC'd currently to 3.4ghz
4870x2 2 Gig
8 Gigs ram.

The 3 gig patch was what started the micro stutter for me.

Yes, I'm having problems. Last patch it ran pretty well, especially with sound quality on low. Now it looks choppier even with decent FPS, and sound quality on low doesn't really help.

Colt are you using the 11.9 drivers? And if so have you downloaded the latest xfire cap2 profile to see if it fixes it?

There is a difference between stuttering and micro-stuttering and the causes. I suspect the terms are getting thrown around interchangeably. I've read up on micro-stuttering and supposedly, the leading cause is the use of AFR1 or AFR2 in dual GPU rendering.
I use AFR2 in SLI with RO2. I have witnessed micro-stuttering on rare occasions, but with good hardware and drivers, it should not be chronic.

Sadly G_Sajer dual gpu rendering techniques are irrelevant to my setup.
I have done many things in order to eliminate the issue to no avail, some of which are:

Updated drivers/used alternative drivers for gfx/sound/chipset.
Disabled many services (including AV etc.), even running a barebones services configuration (no print spool and the like).
Tried many HOS config tweaks such as Disabling/enabling DOF.
Steam overlay and cloud disabled obviously.
Defrag and the like.

Only thing I have not tried at this time is to re-install xp and see how it runs. Sadly I CBA running xp on this rig as I really don't want to go back to triple booting OS's (ubuntu on here as well).

Looks like I will just have to persevere some more, or wait until TW resolve the issue at their end (if it is indeed at their end).

im getting "microstuttering" on station(same spot as OP), pavlov and barracks.
Maps like Grain elevator are perfectly fine. The only difference i have noticed between those three maps and grainelevator, are that the ones that "stutter" have a lot of movable debris lying around(like chairs, boxes, drawers etc). I tried to turn them off(by turning off every decalthing i could find in ROEngine.ini), but it only turned them invisible. They still make sound when i push them around.

Hoping for more optimized maps, and that they remove those annoying "dynamic debris" from the game.

Edit: Artillery is also probably a factor here, but i dont get the same stuttering on Spartanovka, and ive seen it has a lot fewer of those "dynamic debris" thingys lying around.

Yeah. Problem is, everyone's hardware is so diverse. Even more so now since we have roughly three generations of cpu; gpu; and O/S in play right now. No easy answers.

I did upgrade to the 11.9 from ~11.5 a week before the 3 gig patch.

Afaik the 4870X2 is not considered a crossfire internally to they system, however I have yet to use GPUZ to determine GPU Usage during play.
