Ok I'm using the old SOCOM mic that came with the first game (not ideal I know). When I play DoD:S, I just plug my mic into the USB port after starting up the game, then go to test microphone and it works. I get sound through the speakers and am able to use the mic. In Red Orchestra, if I plug the mic in after I start the program, my mic won't work. If plug the mic in before I start the program, my mic works but all the sound will come through the one crappy headphone attached to the mic instead of my speakers, making it hard to hear anything clearly. Anyway to make it so I can use my mic but have the sound come in through my speakers?

One test that often is useful to verify that the mic is properly configured:

Load up a sound recording program, and see if you are able to record your voice.

Are you?

Is the mic working in Teamspeak, Mumble or Ventrilo?
