FFS, we've been over this many times. If TWI wants it, they'll make it happen. For the rest of us, it's good to have a unique Axis weapon. BTW, I typically play Allies.

If their are unique Axis weapons their should also be unique Soviet weapons.
Honestly the absolute worst thing about MGs in this game (which is one of the reasons I don't play it anymore) is the ease with which you can run around and hipshoot them. The MG42 is even worse in this regard than the MG34. I don't care how realistic the sounds, animations, models, or fire rates are when I repeatedly see German rambos running around the game's mostly close quarters maps hipfiring MG42s and racking up 50+ kills. If TWI revisit MG's as Yoshiro hinted, the days of the MG player as a MOUT assault class are done, as well they should be.
The MG has class has been problematic in this game since the beginning.

The irony of things is that I've found that ramboing with MGs is really one of the better ways to be "effective" with them in the game as it stands. The reason I say this is that, in the last few big updates, TWI has removed most of the ironsight zoom from MGs, giving them a distinct range disadvantage over riflemen (who still have the zoom). This means that I almost always get insta-sniped by the eagle eye rifleman snipers before I even get a chance to fire a burst down range or provide suppressing fire.
In other words, the ultimate problem still comes down to the super-zoom on all the guns. But it has a particularly nasty effect on MGs, and forces MG players to resort to stupid (but effective) tactics like ramboing to get good scores.

This is semi realistic game and when you face German and Russian army with equal numbers, the German army will clearly prevail because during the WW2 their weapons were superior to their Russian counterparts including the bigger part of the machines (like the tanks).
Another nice solution, germans get 24 players, russians 40, germans get less ammunition, russians more. Wish that would be doable.
Simply have Allies only have allied weapons and Axis only Axis ones. The PPSh is - to my knowledge - the only weapon that was used in such large numbers by another country that it alon could be an Axis hero weapon. Everything else is unrealistic. Soviet mg'ers used the DP and the DT, not the MG34 and the MG42.
Best of course would be to give the mappers the chance to decide weapons.
Tbh all this whining and *****ing is coming from some kids who are SO used to the good guys (allies) winning all the time in every game and movie that they can't stand the real deal. This is not Clown of Duty where the russians always win because the devs wanted. If you want balance this game is not for you. The whole point is to deal with the handicaps and find another way to win. In your case your case you have to find a way to counter the MG42. Ofc some of you believe this is CoD so everything should be "equal" rofl... thats.. not going to happen, sorry.
Realistically the proper solution would be to represent both armies in unique ways i.e. have Soviets allowed a larger proportion of SMGs and Semi-Auto Rifles than Wehrmacht, while Wehrmacht have the better LMGs.
