FFS, we've been over this many times. If TWI wants it, they'll make it happen. For the rest of us, it's good to have a unique Axis weapon. BTW, I typically play Allies.

If their are unique Axis weapons their should also be unique Soviet weapons.

If TWI revisit MG's as Yoshiro hinted, the days of the MG player as a MOUT assault class are done, as well they should be.

The MG has class has been problematic in this game since the beginning.
Honestly the absolute worst thing about MGs in this game (which is one of the reasons I don't play it anymore) is the ease with which you can run around and hipshoot them. The MG42 is even worse in this regard than the MG34. I don't care how realistic the sounds, animations, models, or fire rates are when I repeatedly see German rambos running around the game's mostly close quarters maps hipfiring MG42s and racking up 50+ kills.

The irony of things is that I've found that ramboing with MGs is really one of the better ways to be "effective" with them in the game as it stands. The reason I say this is that, in the last few big updates, TWI has removed most of the ironsight zoom from MGs, giving them a distinct range disadvantage over riflemen (who still have the zoom). This means that I almost always get insta-sniped by the eagle eye rifleman snipers before I even get a chance to fire a burst down range or provide suppressing fire.

In other words, the ultimate problem still comes down to the super-zoom on all the guns. But it has a particularly nasty effect on MGs, and forces MG players to resort to stupid (but effective) tactics like ramboing to get good scores.

Aren't all Allied weapons unique to allied? Except for hero nonsense ofc.

Give allied molotov from IOM, they're way more fun anyway.

100% agree.

I rambo'd the other day with the MG42 and it was a total laugh. Easy to get multiple kills at 50+ metres. Even one time I crouch walked around a corner and killed 5 guys who couldn't shoot me back due to the insane suppression (which shouldn't apply to shooting MG rambo imo) and my damage per second was much greater than theirs.

The MG42 is a total pisstake in its current form.

The update with MG rambo nerf can not come soon enough.

the mg-42 just need to be availeble for the russian hero mg gunner.

No it doesn't. Making all weapons available to everybody will turn this game into CoD. Its good to have some faction specific stuff. Its ok as it is.

Simply have Allies only have allied weapons and Axis only Axis ones. The PPSh is - to my knowledge - the only weapon that was used in such large numbers by another country that it alon could be an Axis hero weapon. Everything else is unrealistic. Soviet mg'ers used the DP and the DT, not the MG34 and the MG42.
Best of course would be to give the mappers the chance to decide weapons.

Tbh all this whining and *****ing is coming from some kids who are SO used to the good guys (allies) winning all the time in every game and movie that they can't stand the real deal. This is not Clown of Duty where the russians always win because the devs wanted. This is semi realistic game and when you face German and Russian army with equal numbers, the German army will clearly prevail because during the WW2 their weapons were superior to their Russian counterparts including the bigger part of the machines (like the tanks).

If you want balance this game is not for you. The whole point is to deal with the handicaps and find another way to win. In your case your case you have to find a way to counter the MG42. Ofc some of you believe this is CoD so everything should be "equal" rofl... thats.. not going to happen, sorry.

Realistically the proper solution would be to represent both armies in unique ways i.e. have Soviets allowed a larger proportion of SMGs and Semi-Auto Rifles than Wehrmacht, while Wehrmacht have the better LMGs.

Another nice solution, germans get 24 players, russians 40, germans get less ammunition, russians more. Wish that would be doable.

Hmm pretty sure for the most part Germans were "issued" more ammo than the Russians - obviously though during late Stalingrad there were great shortages..

Example:

German Rifleman was issued 12x clips for his Kar98k (60 rounds)
Soviet Rifleman was issued 6x clips (30 rounds)
German Squadleader was issued 6x mags (192 rounds)
Soviet SMG Gunner was issued 2x drums (142 rounds)

Yes, I ALWAYS suggested making the teams uneven by default with giving the Allies team more player slots. Apparently that's not going to happen these days (after 2000). I always loved unfair challenge so being outnumbered should be great addition.

Seriously, just listen to yourselves:

"It's OK for the Axis to have access to a superior weapon and to make that exclusive, but oh no, we can't have the Allies having an exclusive and superior weapon [ppsh] to help balance the game because we like winning as Axis and don't want that to change."

You guys make me sick arguing for continued imbalance so you can keep winning under the pretence of historical accuracy.

Disgusting.

Realistically the proper solution would be to represent both armies in unique ways i.e. have Soviets allowed a larger proportion of SMGs and Semi-Auto Rifles than Wehrmacht, while Wehrmacht have the better LMGs.

This is actually a reasonable suggestion. Something NEEDS to be done to balance the teams out because at the moment it is stupidly unfair.

Lol, I never said to take out the PPSh. I am only against mixing the faction weapons. You can have ALL russians weapons you want. Personally I don't care what weapons my faction have since if there's some weapon that I want I can take one from the ground.

They used a lot of captured SVTs too, but that was of course until ammo ran out.

The Soviets did capture a good number of Polish MGs and even some MG-34s, but the would have been given to more of a second line troops. I've seen a lot of pics of militia units defending Moscow with them.

This, totally.

Realism is not a n00b running around no scoping with MG42.....

Make all MGs like at rifle where they can only be fired prone. These guns are not BARs
