As for the american beers you mentioned they are alright but they are small brewieres nothing compared to sam adams size. I meant as in comercial beer you can buy anywhere. Like Miller or Bud which are piss juice garbage.
Yeah, then again about every country has it's "bulk beers". The most high quality beers tend to come from those microbreweries.

Don't know how it's in the States, but at least those Brooklyn Brewery's beers are easy to get here in Finland, almost every grocery store sells them. Then again, maybe the most selling brewery in Finland, the Sinebrychoff Brewery (which nowadays is a part of the Carlsberg Breweries), imports those here. Even the "village store" nearest to me sells Brooklyn American Ale, and that store has only the most basic groceries :D

Did you know the real bud is from Czechoslovakia? In the states its called Czechvar for copyright reasons. Ironically go to europe and the bottle says budweiser... Its the real one yet the one in america has the trademark.......
Yep, I did know that. Last time I drank a beer from the Budweiser Budvar Brewery was just in last month. That beer was Budejovick

Beers are like fashion. They become popular, fade away, come back again.

Back in the early '70s Corona was popular among the connoisseurs. (Mainly because it wasn't imported at the time. Kind of like how people would drive clear across TX to get a Coors beer before they shipped the beer further east.) Then in the '80's when Corona could be bought as an import, 'nobody' drank that piss. Now its the #1 selling import in America. Anyone remember Heineken? Same story.

Favorite beer of all time. JAX beer from JAX Brewery in New Orleans, LA. Now defunct, unfortunately.
And btw, if you ever make to the French Quarter, be sure to check out the craft beer and breweries. Food, drink, music....

Regarding the MG42, TWI has been very tight lipped about plans ever since the debacle of RO2's release.

Once burned, twice shy.

About the only thing you'll hear is ambiguous statements like "we may work on something related if we have the resources", or "we're considering thinking about something we're not willing to talk about right now".

Having closed betas is the best possible evidence of any breaking content. That was the time to make the issues discussed here more visible. ATM we're rambling "what if" fantasies by and for concerned forum members that still bother to post anything at all.

Am I glad there's a MG42 in game? damn straight skippy!
Do I think it could be better? like many things in RO2 have opportunities for improvement.

It's all about opinions, and I've stated mine here enough times. And while some may not agree, hope they understand why I feel the way I do about it.

If TWI were smart about it they would do something fast about the MG42. The MG42 is creating one-sided Axis dominated games which are killing the player population.

Every time I hear people complaining about some noob running around with MG42 using it as a CQB weapon. I use the word noob correctly because it takes no skill to do.

I also hear people frequently complain of Axis stacking.

I hear people frequently complain that it is overpowered and needs a nerf. On servers that is.

Agreed with the people in this thread saying the LMG's need some sort of movement/inertia/set-up penalty to make hipfiring feel less like they are smg's. But this is not an issue for the MG42 alone, it's about all LMG's.

That would definitely level the playing field, I imagine that wouldn't be all that hard to do, the problem would being getting a mod like that whitelisted. It'd solve the problem pretty quickly.

It shouldn't be a mod. Hipfire fix for lmgs should be a proper game fix. It is close to gamebreaking as it is now.

Guys guys guys...

Someone please show me that copied piece of paper, showing that 1 of the units in Stalingrad possibly had a MG42 at HQ.

It clearly states sMG and not lMG.
Look up what sMG means in the German army and take note of the fact that individual soldiers had a responsibility and accountability for their weapon.
(The same reason why a soldier has a designated weapon, which usually becomes as personal as his underwear...)

The MG42 will probably have been used as a squad weapon in the very final/last stages.
You didn't pick one up "just because..."
And the commander wouldn't let you have it because you made a good cup of coffee... etc.

The MG42s that were at Stalingrad had slab style charging handles. The MG42 that is in the game is a model from 1943 on, and has the vertical charging lever, plus some other less obvious differences.

It's a game afterall. AFAIK, the MG42 model that's in game was originally made by AMG for the Western front TV thingy, and then brought into RO2 after some serious work and coding.

sMG just means Schweres Machinengewehr, which is a tripod-mounted heavy MG. But it's only heavy because of the tripod, otherwise it's just a general-purpose mg.

That is why mapper need the option to edit classes and weapons.

So not every weapon will be available on every map. That will make it possible to play 1941, 1943, 1945 maps with authentic weapon layout.

Right now it is just possible to select some classes, so you need to remove a AT-Soldier to remove the AT-Rifle e.g.

The IOM Team is working on something similar, so there will be authentic weapons and uniforms for every map (of course it need to be edit before).

So there will be no MG-42 and Mkb-42 on 1941 and early 1942 maps e.g.

Btw we need more maps :D
