MG suggestions.

It doesn't matter what the actual players of the game think--Tripwire has basically told us all to go to hell when it comes to MGs and SMGs.

Sorry but I can't recall us basically saying you all could go to hell. We basically said if anything is that we don't have plans to change the MG's for now.

How come they clearly dont funtion nearly the same as in real life same with smgs I understand the smg thing for balance but the mgs are just crap compared to what they were like in real life like I said earlier this other guy posted he knew somone that was in ww2 and him and his squad had to blow their way and mousehole their way through the attics of the buildings instead of face the weapon! If that was RO they would have just poped their head up and aimed as the mg was missing they would have poped off a shot killed him and thought nothing of it. Have any of the guys at tw ever even shot an mg 42 I can tell you it dosnt kick or shake nearly as much as OR depicts you can accuatly shoot with long busts at a man sized target from over a hundred yards with deadly accuracy. I realy think that tw should reconsider their postion on mgs it wouldent be that hard to fix realy most of the community aggres with me history aggres with me but it is just my and mostly eveyone elses opinion its your game though.

I dont think the Machine Guns are that bad. I do agree that they could use a boost to accuracy. Many times I dont feel threatened by a MG42 or MG34 because of how far away the weapon might be. I can take a shot with my rifle and most definately take it out at a distance that out-ranges the weapon. So I do agree that MGs should be a bit more accurate.

But I also dont think we should give attitude to Tripwire or any other producer just because they havent commented or done anything yet. Saying their not listening to us just because they havent said anything yet dosent make sense. The U.S. didnt officially join WWII until after much of the action had already happened. They wanted to remain neutral. But that dosent mean their telling Britan or Frace "Tough Luck".

MG42s used after the war VERY commonly used a tripod as opposed to a bi-pod. That really makes a difference in the vertical recoil

Yep I just tested the mgs in an empty server with my friend I had a ping of 16 to let you know. The mg accuracy is ABSOLUTE sh*t it put the iron sites right on my friend who was about 150 yards away it always missed. The cone fire or what ever you call it is just horrible. The mg 42 and mg 34 both **** horribly. I then took a rifle and I could easly pick off my friend every time. These guns are a mockery of what they were in ww2 I am very pissed mgs are always my fav weapon and I was excited that I could acualy deploy and stuff but was soon dissapointed at the horrible accuacy of them. And dont go and say well you just dont know how to use them if you have your iron sites on the target and fire in a short burst and it dosnt hit somthing is wrong I used long bursts to just to be sure no luck. I realy hope tw will rethink their postion on the completly broken mgs if they would just take them into an empty game and do some testing they would see what I and mostly everyone else sees. End rant no offense at tw

I've been told many times by Tripwire staff that weaponry will only be changed when you fellows are given hands on time with said weapon by a member of the community. In essence, you're saying "the hell with your suggestions" because in all honesty how many people own an MG42 or an MG34?

i always thought, the developers, had the chance th shoot most of the guns :confused:

at least from Ramm, in the mod times i know, he had a Mosin, and shoot guns, at least he told that.

just wondering then, i mean shoudnt they have then some experience with the weapons ...

I dont know why they messed up the mgs so bad if they had ever even shot one I bet they would fix this crap right away.

Nope no exuse at all. Alot of games go by the common stereotype that mgs a **** accuracy witch is not true at all they are more accurate than a rifle! I guess RO has to go with the common stereotype too they totaly ruined mgs when they could have been an important part of gameplay not that dods is any but still the mgs are as they should be. You would have to flank them and nade them out instead of ****ing pick them off with and SMG!:mad: :mad: :mad:

Boy, you sure are all pissed off at the RO devs for not getting the MG right. When in turn you should be pissed at every game that has MGs because they can't get them right either.

Sorry if I come off like a prick but atleast I understand the limitations of a development team and don't constantly look down on their work. You all have been given a reason why the team isn't doing anything at the moment, so either come up with your own ideas or continue to smash your face against a wall that isn't going to move.

If it's really really hard to change the recoil levels(which I don't think so) , doing some copy paste from the mod isn't a limitation for the development team. They just need to stop losing time with adding new toys, but correct these small but important issues that weren't present in the mod.

And yes, you could make a much better post.

That's what they said, that's how its gonna be. If they change it good, although why now? Considering the MG42 has been the same since it was introduced.

No see RO strives for realism witch it clearly dosnt deliver I dont expect other games to get mgs right because they are mostly action junky but RO is not I have higher standards for RO because it is supposted to be reaistic. I dont know how anybody could not reconize these isssues and is it realy that hard to fix just lower the recoil and that horrible cone fire and up the surrprestion well that for another time. I know the new map and smokes was realy nice but why spend your time on that when you can fix stuff like this and alot of other stuff. And its not just me that knows the mgs are unrealistic why dont you or I make a poll to see what people think.

Also, it's a big ignorant to say "RO doesn't deliver realism". It clearly does, but not everything is perfect yet. That's all. Things can be fixed and made more realistically, or modded of course.

You clearly have no idea how the German MG's were in the mod. Only DP accuracy is adjusted with Ostfront.

Mg34 was more accurate, especially in single shot. But the 42 was absolute garbage in the mod, no one ever used the 42. The dp was pretty bad in the mod, but now it rocks :) .

All smgs were much more accurate before, like their effective range listings are the actually effective range, unlike 30 feet for the ppsh now. And bursting atually worked. Spamming the smgs was an actual term, unlike now where it is the only way to use them.

Rifles are less accurate but that's ok. They were like lasers before. Although i've noticed that the bullet drop is less signifigant.
