As far as I'm concerned, that rifle-butt in the vid was proof of a "melee button". It's hard to say for sure when you're dealing with a fraction of a second of footage, BUT I think the attack may have stunned the Zed.

This modular gun system is quite interesting; I think it's based around how Medics tend to use cross-class weapons more than any other perk (or at least did before the last couple SMGs got added to the game)

So now, instead of doing that, you can get an on-perk weapon in the style of other class' weapons, that also has the feature of caseless ammo (they mentioned that made for light recoil and overall weapon weight. Do you suppose the tradeoff will be less damage, or more expensive ammo?)

It's not just really neat-looking, it's also a very clever design choice. Bravo, Tripwire!

(Also reminds me of Mass Effect technology. Glowy parts, caseless ammo, modular guns... Might change my name to "Shepard" whenever I plan to Medic. :D )

i'm really looking forward to the new medic experience. it was my first level 6 perk on KF1.

the new gun looks great and with each upgrade using the pistol as a base i might be correct in suggesting that the medic weapon is not a droppable weapon. that we simply tradeup our default pistol as the rounds progress.

if that is the case it might be in response to carrying multiple medic weapons for extra dosages

every dev diary makes me more excited for the early access program.

I like playing as medic but the new weapons style in KF2 for the medic SUCKS. What is this? Are we playing Gaylo or something? I hate sci fi weapons unless they represent some "real" weapons like the M41A pulse rifle, yeah I would use that any day. But some laser pee shooters crap - hell no man!

I agree with this guy, they should have styled them after the guns doctors carry in real life to heal people with. Specifically the old timey versions like they used in ww2 because it's gritty as ****. Everyone knows lasers and every colour off the palette that doesn't look like blood, dirt, or camouflage is for pansies. I even cover the little blue LED on my monitor with tape when I play killing floor 1 incase someone walks in on me playing - I don't want them to think I'm some sort of weird sci-fi nerd. Don't we all just want one rugged chest hair to sprout for every bullet that we hear leave that gritty gun muzzle?

Also the healing grenades look nothing like real life healing grenades, it's pretty ridiculous.

I bet this guy doesn't even know the significance of ubercharges in the WW2 victory over Germany.

Dude if you like playing with laser crap - sure, its your choice. But some of us prefer the good ol' bullets. I don't mind seeing bullet fed sci fi weapons like in Starship Troopers or Aliens for example, but I am against all sort of blasters, lasers, etc, crap like that.

The med guns in KF2 fire bullets. It's just a logo on the side that glows.

Are you really arguing about REALISM for guns that shoot HEALING DARTS and do not even EXIST in reality, and doctors that cure people with instant HEALING SYRINGES????
Now tell me what did you find of realistic in the medics of the first killing floor that we should miss in the sequel...!!?!?

I don't think they fire bullets man. I think its some sort of plasma or something like that. They look like energy weapons.

Over here, no not there, here.
The new medic guns fire caseless ammunition. Also If realism was an issue I would have thought somebody would have touched on the heal-darts topic a long time ago.
I mean, you point the muzzle of your gun at somebody to give them medical attention - that's a nono guys.

But you don't want a game like KF limited by realism. You want to come up with the most creative guns possible. I feel like excluding sci-fi weapons is a big no-no.

Stick to bullets if you like, but if there's sci-fi weapons, I'm gonna be using them.

Alright, since this medic glowy gun can be upgraded and it starts off as a pistol, i think it's safe to assume that the gun and all four of it's levels (Pistol,SMG,Shotgun &Assault Rifle) will be in the "pistol" weapons slot (and the benefit to that is it would take less carrying space). although being able to hold several of the modular gun with different parts is just as possible too.
however will the medic get any other weapons besides his modular medic gun such as the MP5M? (my most favorite medic weapon in KF1)

1. No, it wont be in the pistol slot when you upgrade it. Why? Because pistol Tier1, SMG Tier2, Shotgun Tier 3 and Assault rifle Tier4.
2. Why would it take less carrying space? You upgrade it, it becomes bigger and heavier.
3. Maybe not at the start but later on medic will most likely get more weps.

Why you can't upgrade every tier separately? I mean what if I want to play with shotty? Or with AR only? Why I am forced to upgrade to the next tier? I mean I am not directly forced, I can stay with the previous tier of course, but I will get under powered compared to the next tier so it would be better to move on from tier 3 shotty to tier 4 AR for example.
