Ok so I did a quick playthrough of the beta:

Graphics -> Graphics are very nice though nothing groundbreaking. Also that's hard to judge because those are just the 'MP'-graphics with frostbite.

Sound -> Weapon sounds are nice and make the weapons feel good

Maps -> I only played Helmand Valley and that map totally pwns. You have to advance and destroy objectives, which is nothing new. However I've never seen afghanistan portrayed so well in a MP game. Of course I haven't been there but that's how I'd imagine it to look. You see all the mountains etc around you and wide landscapes so it doesn't really feel like just a map. Dunno about the Kabul map though as I haven't played it.

Gameplay somehow felt more serious to me than both BC2 and MW2. Weapons behaviour reminded me more of MW2 but with weapons feeling actually strong. But it definitely is not just a BC2 without vehicles(well actually theres a bradley in helmand valley), I didn't feel reminded of it once.

The only thing that bothers me - and if they don't fix it I ain't gonna buy - is the fact that ironsights are bull**** in this game. So far every weapon in the beta except for the M16 / M4 have misaligned ironsights -> it looks like you only aim with the front sights. That's not acceptable for me.

Also another thing that has become clear to me -> MoH will still find it's place, but I'm not going to buy another modern warfare shooter after this(if I'm going to buy moh at all). Modern Warfare has become the new WW2.

Verdict: Pass

It's Bad Company 2 downsized with worse graphics and a CoDish HUD like others have been saying. Great way to reenergize a franchise...by copying two other games. Feels way too arcadey and cartoony to be taken seriously as a realistic take on Afghanistan. Most everything just feels shoddy. Some things are definitely consoleish (ie the big test message that comes up saying HIT R TO RELOAD! after you fire 10 bullets). Sound is good.

As far as gameplay, the combat does require you to take cover more but most every time you hit someone you don't get an instant kill unless you hit them in the head. It takes like 5 body shots to down someone. I got no real sense of teamwork while playing whereas BC2 and its squad system makes teamwork relatively simple.

Tis a shame since Allied Assault was one of the greatest FPS's of all time. It's legacy is still marred in my opinion.

BC2 is superior to this in every way. This feels like a stripped down BC2.

Yes another reason why Modern Warfare sucks who wants to play as Taliban / Terrorist / Iraqi Insurgent?
Well I guess for most people it doesn't matter since the majority of them doesn't really know much about the Taliban and the things they do(having read several books about that topic I do, though I still don't care because for me it's just a game). And many people are like 'Americans get to shoot everyone in video games, why would it be so bad to play as taliban for once.".

I hate both sides, therefore I hate anything related to modern warfare.
