Maybe mod, maybe not.

Hi

Last week when I player RO's map "Mannikkala" I thought, why this mission tell's about Finland Continuation War(Fight of VKT-Line and Mannikkala village both are true history! Nice map I say)but there is no Finnish soldiers..

Maybe its because there is only one map about Finland's Continuation War and it would be stupid to do Finnish forces for only one map.. Who knows..

But then I imagined that there could be some more experienced mappers and modders on this forum so thats why I wrote this message.. And now my idea is to do just a minimod about Finland war during 1939-1944. During the 1945 was Lapland war, where Finns fought against Nazis but I can put some links where you can found some ideal information.

So, my point is to do this mod what contains a couples of maps of Winter War, and couple of maps of Continuation War. And of course, the winter suited soldiers and summer suited soldiers. Including tanks and realistic guns. I think soviets will do good with their armaments and suits just as RO includes.

It would be like "Carpathian Crosses", but there would be more maps. Im not a mapper or modder so thats why I admit you to do this work. I dont think it would be very hard for you. I really appreciate you if you can do it!

love the winter war and kudos to you for posting an idea or mod suggestion that doesn't boil down to "make me this" like so many others have done.

a winter war mod has been suggested many times before in the mod section of the forum.

Yes, maybe the mod doesn't come to RO.. Lets just hope it atleast come to RO2 !

Oh, and by the way, could someone tell me where I can download RO Map Edior? Anybody know?

If you mean the sdk, then just downlaod it under the tools section of steam.

Maybe RO2 might include the Winter War as part of the Eastern Front campaign who knows ?

I made some nice Finnish Summer and Winter skins and even coded them.
I would gladly contribute them if I still have them. Not sure if I deleted them.

Try to find them! I really wanna see what kind of they are! Im very interested in Finnish Winter- and Continuation war and at the moment, I'm creating map called "Battle of Tali-Ihantala". Tali-Ihantala was a battle in Continuation War where Finns and Germans fought against Soviets, and won. If you want to know more check this out:

I've been struggling with the SDK at some point, I'm now planning to try again. Not for a full mod, not by myself xD but maybe a few mini-mod maps.
