We should also add the Bagger 288 and make it a fancy troop carrier you can shoot out of.

Why dream so small with the Maus? Why not the entire gamut of late-war hocus-pocus? Wouldn't Red October Factory and Barracks be much better maps if we got to use the experimental (in 1943, anyway) IR optics of the Panther and StG-44? If we had those things in-game just think of how far this game could go! Actually, you know what, scrap that idea! We should just jump straight to Leopard 2's and T-90's, because that would add WAY more balance to maps like Pavlov's House and Comissar's House.

PKM and AKM to balance the MGs and mkb42; APS to balance full auto c96..
Germans can get G3 with scope unlock to balance the all the SVT/AVT russians have; and something to balance the PPSh-41... Though, i dont know if Germany still have something comparable :D
panzershreck vs RPG-7....

there is no other way than...
giving captured PPSh with tungsten core germans.
Captured+tungsten is a perfect solution of asymetrical weapons!

MP717(r)? Just a captured PPsh-41, often supplied with 7.63mm Mauser ammo. (c96 ammo)

Or mabey the german 9mm conversion, the MP41(r)? Not quite tungsten, but close enough :p

no drum..

I guess Germany still has nothing nomparable to PPSh :D
tho i can be wrong.

But they do, they bought some Suomi SMG's... though only around 3000 units, which is pretty much nothing at all on the big picture =D

How in hell did the logistics on Axis work at all? Germany seems to have had every caliber weapon ever made in their arsenal, and the Japanese had the whole 6.5mm/7.7mm going on, with the latter coming in rimmed and rimless varieties.

E: On the original topic, I can almost imagine the gameplay with the Maus. After a full-speed-ahead charge, the fantasy tank has almost reached the first objective after 10 minutes. Then it is destroyed by artillery, having achieved nothing.

I think the number of Suomi SMGs in German use is closer to 5000. In addition of the ~3000 units you mentioned, 120 Suomi SMGs were presented to German troops in Finnish Lapland. Germans also used some number of captured Suomi SMGs: Finland sold those guns before/during WW2 to the countries like Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia and Poland. Wikipedia states that Bulgaria got 5505 pieces and Croatia 1250, but it's hard to believe the numbers were that big. Also French confiscated around 300 Suomi SMG's from the Spanish Republican Troops fleeing to France in 1939, which quite likely ended up in Germans' hands.

Germans also used Danish licenced copy of Suomi, which although is quite different looking from outside. About 1500 "Danish Suomis" were manufactured. Still in the end, the number of Suomi SMGs in German use was nothing compared to the 2nd generation SMGs, but it might've been the most numerous 1st generation SMG, excluding PPD-40.

I'm assuming the looted guns (eg czech, french) got redistributed to rear and support units with a few boxes of ammo. Or failing that, they use the MASH method and trade liquor and such around and the ammo slowly makes its way to the right destinations :p . Another good example is their armour, I'd hate to think what a nightmare it would have been getting spare parts around for all the vehicles...

Why are you making offtopic comments?

My plan is a 8 v 1 game (plus some infantry on both sides). Allies goal is to race their tanks to a particular location. Between their spawn and destination point is a large territory controlled by a Maus tank. If at least 5 allies tanks reach the location, their side wins.

Scenario:

In early 1945, the remaining German tank units are attempting to regroup in key areas to protect their supply lines. To this end, a single experimental Heavy tank is hastily pressed into service to guarantee their successful maneuver.

The Maus tank is less mobile and has slow turret traverse but can aim and shoot from standoff ranges. German infantry act as FOs to give early warning of where the allies tanks are heading.

MP-7 vs. PPSh41.

Can't believe nobody thought of that - similar rate of fire, MP-7 has a 40-round mag which is acceptably large and has higher penetration, accuracy, and control.

Alternatively, if you want a gun that has a bigger mag than PPSh:
