What are some of the better looking material packs for your levels? I know I personally like the indoors feel for of my levels since so many of the existing levels take place outside.

I'm not that far into the editor yet. I stopped working with the editor back when the original Unreal and Unreal Tournament were around so I am relearning some of the basics and learning some of the new things like the materials. I found a few packs that look good but I would like to learn how to make my own.

Thanks, I will have a look. In the old days, all we did was apply textures not materials so it took me awhile to figure that out with the help of some people on here.

My favorite website for textures. There's a cap on how much you can download, but if you register for a membership you won't be restricted.

Seconding this, I don't think I've taken a source image from anywhere else for years. Awesome site.

Get used to the material editor. If anything it actually reduces the amount of texture work you need to do: things like detail normals, vertex painting + dirt/wear/moss/etc. textures, the ability to adjust hue/saturation/brightness/contrast/etc., and the rest, make it a lot easier to get the results you need without switching backwards and forwards between the editor and your graphics software.
