Well, I thought it might be interesting to dedicate a thread to people's decisions in this game. DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED/BEATEN BOTH GAMES!

Deaths:

in my 1st playthrough Ashleigh and Wrex died in #1, Tali in #2
2nd playthrough: all have survived so far! :)

ME1 Big Choices:
I chose to save the council and a paragon
Save the Rachni

ME2 Big Choices:
Save the Geth
Stop a war between geth and Tali's people

Fav Song:
Afterlife Club!
YouTube - Mass Effect 2 club "afterlife" Omega full version music
May be a spoiler, look at your own risk!

I didn't get the mass hype over the first game. I couldn't be bothered to finish it. Way too repetitive. Maybe RPGs just aren't my thang ;)

Sorry but, repetitive? Maybe if dialog isn't your thing, it's repetitive. Bioware games are some of the most creative RPGs out on the market for the most part. The Mako exploration was the only truly repetitive element in ME.

Compared to like, Borderlands? ME is a new thing around every corner.

Now, I'm not a ME fan. I played the first one and never finished it. Didn't like the RPG system, never really connected to the setting, didn't like the combat...but the dialog and "RPG consequence" of the game was top notch.

I may not foam at the mouth for Bioware games, but I at least appreciate what they're trying to do. When most people are churning out actiony crap, Bioware is still staying true to the roots of RPGs and paying attention to story and character.

Dunno man but I remember going on missions that all felt and looked exactly the same on planets that only differed in skin color.

Did you guys hear that your character won't carry over to ME3, that kind of makes me wonder what the whole ****ing point of having choices and character carry over in ME2 was!

SPOILER ALERT

Considering that the entire team including Shepard can die in ME2 it kinda makes sense doesn't it? Because then they would have to reincarnate Shepard again :D

ME2 was such a great game, it made me jizz a lot.

Eh... wonder if the same thing will happen with Dragon Age 2.

I heard it carries over unless he/she's dead, obviously, in which case you would have to start a new Shepard with default (selectable again?) backstories.

It will carry on, even in loading screens there's a tip about that. Also the devs stated that many times.

i played the first Mass Effect and i really enjoyed it at first. but then it reached this point where the whole game went straight to the toilet - suddenly it was like, "heres this big huge map of the universe, pick any of these exotic planets to visit and do missions!!" and i was like, awesome! so i go to some of the planets (like 5 or so) and the missions are total FAIL: find this, find that, look here, kill that. i dont mind doing those kind of missions when the story is alongside of it, but it was like they were trying to fill time.
