I don't know why my post got a dislike, I'm right! :D

And Chad, never play a single player game that has a "2" on its title without having played the first one.

Excluding The edlar scrolls and fallout. :p
But yeah, Mass Effect seemed cool at first, I just never made the decision. Now around 1-2 years later, I want to... at a cheap price!

Yeah shame, it was only GOTY 2010 for both users and press.

By that logic, you better eat ****. Billions of flies can't be wrong, they say it's the best food ever.

But more seriously: I think ME2 was all in all worse than ME1, just with shinier graphics. And with ME3 being even more "streamlined" I have quite a bad feeling about it. Unless they mean they get rid of the game length boosting grinds that plagued both games, and not remove even more depth and options than they did in part 2.

ME2 did seem more grindy to me than ME1, due to the fact that it was almost entirely a "build your crew" quest. However, the characters are actually interesting for the most part, and if you import your character from ME1, you get a bunch of nifty additional encounters that are just neat to have. Also you get the Salarian song, which is worth a couple quid in itself.

I bought the deal yesterday... and I like the game (ME1 so far).... Its quite fun... Bioware just keeps on putting the party system in which is a little peeve of mine... If I am going out to save the galaxy or whatever, I'd like to bring my party along with me....
I guess its an intergalatic rule - Those who do something productive can only be accompanied by 2 friends maximum... along with the medieval era (DA:O & SW:KoTOR).... I hope one day they'll make it where I can take all my buds with me in bigger battles.

I can't stop playing.... (ME1)

A few annoyances is getting around seems to take a little extra time than you'd like. The elivator rides... don't get me started. xD

Other than those issues and the one about the party system... this game is fun to play, I enjoy doing combat every time.

I find it HILARIOUS to sprint and knock some fool over to the ground and just finish them off with the shotgun while they are on the ground.

Makes me wonder what ME2 & 3 will be like.... :D

Well, you can skip the elevator rides if you like, just use those quick-travel consoles. Elevator have some cool party banter sometimes (Wrex + Kaidan especially), that's why I like to use them :p

Good thing you already like the game from the start, because in the end you'll jizz your pants :D

Yes ME1's ending was epic... as was the music.

ME2's ending... not so much, but not sure you can blame it since it is the "intermediary".

Course so was The Empire Strikes Back :p.

I'm just excited about them saying the combat will be more in open areas now with enemies that try to flank you and pressure you. (other than just the husks that is)

Oh and Chadwik, unless you're a stat/weapon whore don't start doing the sidequests... they'll seriously kill your enjoyment of the game. (they all use about 3 different room layouts... ME2 is much better in this regard)

Yeah, but if you do the sidequests, keep selling your gear, and then import your character into ME2, you get a huge load of cash and supplies that keeps you from doing much of the planet mining that drags ME2 to a grind.

I beat the game racking in 14 hours and 42 minutes... I was just stunned how they made such a game, payed so close to detail... the voice acting was great, dialog was awesome, deciscion making was epic.... I want to go to ME2 now, but I want to replay some of ME1 with different settings to see how things turn out and such and so I have like 3 or 5 characters to run through in ME2 & 3.
PS. I did some side quests, they got a bit tedious but wasn't much of a hassle. Overall great game.

Oh, and I don't understand why we get 4 weapons... it was more of a hassle than an option, I never used the sniper, pistol became obsolete (Assault rifle and Shotgun combo is what I did for my soldier).... I would be happy just selecting 2 guns. Plus I don't understand why the AI get to upgrade first aid... such a pointless skill to waste on, so I found out auto-leveling them was dumb (For squad only).

14h?
Just how many side-quests have you done? I can never beat the game in less than 25h. By the way, have you gotten the Bring Down the Sky DLC? It's really nice as well, and it's free.

If your Shepard doesn't have first aid its a good skill to put in for a teammate, otherwise medigel won't hardly heal anyone at all. I guess the Soldier class has it though so yeah its kinda useless unless you often use a party member that can put skills in medicine. Then they can use the neuro shock power, and you need to put some points in first aid before the medicine skill tree is available.

Wow 14 hours??? I spent exactly 61 hours playing ME1 (one play through) according to steam. Granted I reloaded the part at Vermire a couple times to see if I could get a different result and a few other random parts but that's it.... course I DID do all the sidequests (yes, despite my earlier advice :p).

ME2 took me 88 hours (bought all the quest DLCs but none of the weapon/armor/other crap ones). Again, did all the sidequests (much more enjoyable this time... the mining is what sucks in ME2---thankfully you usually have a massive excess of all the minerals except for zero energy or whatever it's called---I just used wikipedia to find out what planets had a lot of that though so as to not waste time scanning). Really getting collecting heavy weapon ammo + medigel are the most important things... you get most of the weapons/upgrades you need automatically in the course of the game. Also... three locust SMGs > all.

I did replay the ending like 5 times though.

And Britney getting the "rich" bonus in ME2 from ME1 only bags you like 100,000 credits IIRC, OR 150,000 at most.

If I replayed ME1 I certainly wouldn't bother with the generic sidequests fosho.
