I'm a little worried that it's coming out too soon, actually. Since it's supposed to tie everything up into a neat little finish*, my ideal version would have the exploration and individual gun variety of ME1 added back in with a bunch of missions that further flesh out the various characters (of which there are now almost too many to care much about). Since ME3 coming out a couple of years after ME2, and will have a big Earth component, and have multiplayer, I'm a little worried that it will be a shorter game on a more linear plot.

*although I think an MMO version of some sort is probable

Very nice! I'm a little uncomfortable with the idea of it affecting SP though, even if you can complete the "perfect game" through SP alone.

Still, looks like BW knows what they're doing.

It's annoying that you can't get the "full ending" in single player alone, but if it's a few short missions, we should be able to knock them out in an hour or so. The missions have to be shooting only right, or are they going to have a dialogue/choice voting system somehow?

You CAN get the full ending in singleplayer alone. Co-op is completely optional.

One question.

Will ME3 require Origin?
Since the game now has multiplayer, I think it will :(

I hope the SP is not compromised in anyway. I really do not care for the MP.

As long as I indeed can play the story entirely through I am fine. I think an MP addon would have been nice for DLC.

I'm looking forward to ME3 ... I finally had a chance to pick ME2 up on the summer sale back in July. However ... I really hope it doesn't require Origin. :(

I have a feeling it will. :(

Not only is it more intrusive than Steam, it is really slow an inefficient. It also happens to use twice as much RAM.

Co-op sounds kinda obsolete to me. ME was never so much about the combat for me. Of course I'd rather have polished, fluid combat which seems to be what they're aiming for to have in ME3 than unresponsive bs combat, but still. ME for me is about the character interaction, story, atmosphere and the grand scale of things, not about the combat sections inbetween. So why would I care much about doing more combat sections, even if its with friends? Probably gonna get boring soon anyhow.

I hope that this game isn't too RPG-focused like ME1 and too combat focused in ME2. I'm not saying that those games are bad at all.

Ya combat is entirely seconday to me too.

Of course it needs to be enjoyable, but to have a whole game mode focused on it seems weird.

I better be able to join the other side in ME3! I hate being stuck on the human side while I'm constantly thinking "those bad guys make sense".

So if the combat is secondary... what exactly is primary? Watching the cutscenes?

Meh, I'd love to play a Turian or Batarian though. A spinoff where you're playing as a Batarian special forces team infiltrating a Turian cruiser Republic Commando style would be neat.
Spoiler!

In the ME games all humans seem to be arrogant powerhungry meatbags. In ME1 the robot enemy made sense and who I am I to stop a mass extinction so new life can prosper? At the end the game basically forced me to fight the enemy.
In ME2 I didn't like the pro-human ex-terrorist orginization from the start. I can complain all I want in the game about it, it won't make me leave the group so I was playing the whole game against my virtual will.

Remember not too long ago that Bioware said they were looking to compete with CoD and had hired people to create some sort of MP mode. Of course everyone thought of a shooter type gameplay but I'm assuming that this co-op is what they were talking about. And for the future who knows after ME3. Anything other than an MMO. Please no MMO.
