Yup, your iron sights are off.

I posted a thread about a French website that had great information french small arms. Check it out. It'll give you good idea of how the sights worked.

Thanks for the link ,ive been looking for good pictures of it for a while but was forced to use some poor ones and i really had to guess the Iron Sights this will jelp alot cheers mate

you should try to reduce the thickness.
What is our method for modelling ? try to fin a profil/side of a weapons, it will give you a reference for modelling. (see the website GuidoTorpedo posts)

i've already model the mas 38 and i can say that it's not easy to find the good proportion

how did you get the rounded edges?

I just started of with a square and then used to curve tool on the corner and pushed it all the way to the back to make it dissapear if that makes any sense lol.
