Brightness is fine in other games so I don't see why you think it's my monitor. My monitor is actually fine and the colors are just amazing. I'm very happy with the settings I have too.

Not a single RO1 map have clear sky sunlight. The game just gets kinda depressing to play imo.

The first grain silo screenshots were in a bright blue sky. I remember a lot of talk on the forums about how bright and sunny it was. Some seem to think that no battles were fought on sunny days....

A bit like your map and your sig. lol

In game? I wanted it to be bright because of the glare and the desert sun to showcase most of the shadow projectors I manually made.

I will acknowledge that it does seem brighter on an LCD screen as opposed to the 5 year old CRT I used when I made the map. It looked perfect there :D

Its actually about a 10 second tweak I could make in the map to fix it, but I rarely see it played and then players would have to download it again :(

I think part of the lack of sunlight was that the engine really didn't create shadows well, and with a cloudy day you can avoid that all together.

there's nothing wrong with the maps. what you're talking about is lighting.

war is depressing to... so go figure. :D (you had it coming don't deny it.)

also your monitor is probably fine but if youve ever been near a fire it can be almost pitch black very dark right around where the cloud of smoke is. in a war zone it is darker where there are shadows (smoke, dust, debris in the air.) also to realistically portray the effects of war since i can't actually be there to smell it. i need visual ques to make up for that. personally i think its fine what you have it set to is to bright my eyes started to bleed when i looked at that thing and i use firefox. :)

your new pic thats as bright as id ever want ro2 to be.

I am mainly worried about the brightness since I have experience with BC2.
Every time I thought about returning, it's all so bright it hurts my eyes!

Although eventually you get used to it, it's just annoying.
That's what the second OP picture shows me, just too bright.
Also only new video's or the release of the game can confidently show what the brightness is and what is wrong (or good) about the brightness.

And it's not my monitor, even after my new monitor and correctly calibrated (I think) it's the only game where it is just too bright.

The second photo is by far more natural. It looks like there's a *gasp* SUN.

Reminds me of Call of Duty 2 which had the best atmosphere. Sigh.. TR servers have never been as good as they were in CoD2.
