Its probably too early to tell but does anyone know if UE3 mapping is going to be done similarly to UE2/2.5? Of course its going to be way more advanced but I was just wandering if the basics would stay the same. Or even if mapping for UE2 is similar to Source or other engines.

Im asking because I really want to learn to map and it would be an extra boost to my work ethic if I knew that my skills could be used universally, at least somewhat.

I would assume UE3 will be like UE2/2.5, since UE1 and UE2/2.5 were pretty much the same IIRC, just with added features.
Same for UnrealScript.

I don't know exactly, but from what I've seen from pictures of the UEd interface, it's still pretty familiar. I think the textures are handled differently, I can't really tell, and there are certainly a whole slew of new features, but if you're wondering if learning 2.5 would make 3.0 easier, yes it would, without a doubt.

Well, doesn't Tripwire already have the Unreal 3.0 tools so you don't have to look at the screenshots? Or, although you have the license, does it come later?
