[MAP-WIP] Climb Up

Hello guys,

iam still new to the sdk and i started a map month before. but i stopped that, becuase i wanted to put my own meshes into udk. this takes a bit longer i thougt and so i decided to create a map, only with the meshes inside the sdk.

Update: 1.11.2012

Some Infos:
Mapname: TE-Climb Up
Attackers: Allies
Defenders: Axis
Support: Allies got a Tank to attack (maybe two?)
Target: Allies needs to cap the Hill / All Artys

hehe yeah i think its getting trench warfare. when i fix some bugs its ready for some testing too. specalliy the pylons and the priority of the bots make some trouble...

Looks pretty good, even without the lightmass. Time to sharpen my bayonet once again for some good ol' dirty trenchfighting :IS2:

so you want to have some new media :), i have made a little video of the envoirment arty i made. its not coming down on the map, its getting from :p

it works like i want to, but the frontent particle system is the t34 tank shot. but it didnt get it atm, that it "shots" in the right direction. and i didnt really know how to position the particle system, in the particle editor. i think it would the best, to create a copy of the "tank shot particle" that i can change it in the particle editor. or has some one an idea?

i want to put 5 or 6 Artys (maybe as an object) that fires all 25 - 30 seconds. everyone has a different timer. (in the video their only 2).

Excellent :) it's the first time I see this in a map :p good job it works good ;) (but if the player next to the canon is a 'static 3d model' I think it would be better to remove it... The idea is good but it can not have a invincible person next to each canon ;\ (maybe it was someone on the server or a bot... but it seems to be a static thing (00:18).


But is is better to have a canon shooting with no help from human, or is it better to have a static invincible player next to it to simulate someone in charge? I don't know :D (maybe you can build some kind of bunker with the static player inside next to canon or find something a little less weird :D)

yeah the Men next to the canon is a 3d mesh. i know the problem, that the guys aren't killable, but i thought about a little szenario.

if the allies cap the points next to the arty, maybe an bull's-eye hits the arty and the everybodys dies around the cannon. specally the 3ds models ;) so only the germans would see, the "reloading" guys.

but this is much work i think, so i don't think i will change it, like it is.

I don't understand what you mean.

oh man this is really cool!. i got the same idea for my paks, but i wasn't sure, if its works. and i got not so much time, i want to spend in sdk (and i spend a lot) ^^.

when you look at the video at second 0:18. you see 2 smokes. the big one and the smaller frontend one.

and i want to change the direction of the smaller one, because the smoke goes back and not in the front. i tried to change but i didn't work.
