Overall, I love the map. I have just one small fussy little criticism. It's just a realism detail thing. I looked at the sky and saw numbers of aircraft up there which would constitute an entire air-force of that era. I can just about assure you that neither the Russians or the Germans had the resources to put numbers of planes in the air over Stalingrad like that. The idea to have some aircraft up there is a good immersive effect, but reduce the numbers by about 2/3. This will look sensible and at the same time have the side benefit of reducing a little performance stress on older video cards. :)


TBH noting is final in the map....I not really a history buff, so for me its usually what comes to mind at the time i add it in my maps. however i pretty easy going dude i don't have a problem with making changes. I can take the bombers out, if it bugs you guys?

Personally I like the bombers and flak cannons and believe they add to the map atmosphere. Like Sajer said though, reduction in numbers could be a good choice :)


I'd also like to say the lightning effect is phenomenal. Last night I had a group of russians running into a darkend building shell to my 12 o'clock. I couldn't quite make them out until the lightning flashed and they all lit up plain as day. Thought that was a really great moment in the map.

If you can get the ambient noises (rain) working 100% of the time that would be a plus as well.

:) Don't remove the aircraft; just diminish the large numbers of them. That will be stellar!

The sounds have been fixed,everything works now. I'll diminish the some of the bombers. Move the Russian spawn back a bit, and make the obj's lock after being captured. I release another update, and we can go from there.;)

Some Feedback after playing a whole Round. Like i have wrote in my previous posts, its a really good map (brings back some nice moments from Ro) with lots of potential. Here are my toughts about it.
Good Points:
- Epic Atmosphere
- Rainy and foggy
- Urban warfare as its best
- huge map
- Longrange and Closequarter combat

Bad Things i have mentioned:
- Lacks of detail:
Each cap look nearly the same, each street look nearly the same, that makes it really hard to orientate and communicate with teammembers.
Pls add more details to the buildings and ruins (I consider some maps like Pariserplatz and Krieggstadt from Ro)

- Each cap is re capable.
Brakes down the whole gameplay. Germans werent able to get above cap C for the whole game.
Caps are too close and too many. (Again i consider Krieggstadt as inspiration)
- No Sewers to get trough the combat and missing flanking possibilities.
Map needs more Cover notes and Buildings (achievable roofs and buildings to fight for)


I know its only a early alpha version but im really curious to see the final product. Keep it up

- Changed Obj's set-up.
- Made Obj's lock after being captured.
- Fixed rain sound cutting-off after initial start.
- Fixed Bomber sound cutting-off after initial start.
- Reduced number of bombers.
- Fixed thunder sound cutting-off after initial start.
- Fixed lightning timer to match skybox.
- Adjusted map lighting a bit.
- Adjusted some spawn point, where player spawned under the map.
- Added more cover-nods.
- Fixed some cover-nods not working properly.
- Fixed Mesh collision top of sniper towers.
- Fixed areas where players were getting stuck.
-Adjusted few kismet issues.

The biggest problem may have been the numerous objectives.
We'll be placing this one in rotation again. Let's see how it goes...

Any plans to release it on Steam Workshop?
I look forward to rain maps as this is something that I missed from RO1 quite a lot!

I've been trying since the day i released the update on here. Steam is FUBAR it seems at the moment. It allowed me to update 2 of my maps, but this and Sniper Bridge i cannot. :rolleyes:

As soon as SWS is fixed all upload them. ;)
