I actually thought that the tunnels were the commonly accepted defensive position.

Just about every round of manor I've played (and I've only PUG'd) has involved dropping down into that tunnel after the first few waves and either defending on two fronts (against those coming down into the tunnel & those coming in through cellar) or simply welding the door from the cellar and creaming the zed's as they enter from outside.

Strangely enough, rounds tend to end with taking on the pat outside. Never quite figured that bit out.

it should be noted that this D is pretty much just a zerk Defence, the caves right in that middle spot are still really good, but because theyr wider, they often have the trouble that FP's can cause you real heck, the closet actually makes sirens more of a worry then Fleshpounderd

The caves are indeed the best spot I've seen on manor. Camping the middle cave near-ish the exit makes it generally easy. A good berserker up front can deal with FPs/scrakes, then the ranged classes can be more or less anything, picking off crawlers, sirens, scrakes for sharpshooters. One, perhaps two people can hold the rear, as few zombies spawn back there.

You get some space to move, plenty of space to retreat and an excellent field of fire.
