Maneater Known Issues PSA

Hey everyone,

We are so excited to see so many of you splashing around the gulf in Maneater, but we are aware some of you are being impacted by some issues which we know is not ideal. We want to let you know we are digging into these reports and the following is a non exhaustive list of top issues we are tracking and working on fixes for as soon as we can.

• Player camera gets stuck in the shark
  • There is a rare case where the player camera can get stuck in the shark after a cut scene. To work around, players need to quit to main menu and reload the save to clear this issue until a full fix has been released.
• Progress Loss/Save Game Issues
  • We are continuing to investigate this issue, but so far attempts to replicate it internally to find the cause have failed. We are looking for any and all player information about what could trigger this to happen.
• Achievements not be awarded after Hotfix 2
  • We believe these issues will not trigger on a new game, we are currently still investigating if achievements/trophies and unlocks not being rewarded can be retroactively granted, but currently we recommend players start a new game.
• Trophies Not Being Granted on PS 5
  • We believe we know what is causing this and are working on a fix

We continue be excited by all of you who have taken a bite into Maneater so far, doubly so for those that have and are helping us track down these issues in our bug forums.

An update, figured out the issue, i missed a gate in the game, the closed gate between Dead Horse Lake and Caviar Key, when i had sailed over there just free roaming after i completed the game i saw a question mark, went over to it and the Queen of the Ocean trophy unlocked followed by the Platinum trophy. It might help to list the gates are needing to be found and opened in the regions that have them for 100% region completion, just a suggestion lol.

 

so i had a bit of an interesting glitch thats got me pretty worried. I was on the final boss (i think it was atleast), the second fight with scaly pete. Just as I had beat him and a cutscene was about to start, i accidentally went into the main menu. I went back into the game and there was nothing, no mission marker, no boss, nothing. What should i do?

 

I found a Solution for the Platin bug trophy
So i thought ok a bug, well it is, BUT....if you go to every gate in the game, some of them are not opened in my case was the gate of property sands, I opened and here you are the queen of ocean is activated also the Platin trophy, hope I could help

 

Made an account to say this. PS4 framerate is awful, makes the game completely unplayable. Once the bounty hunters show up the framerate drops to 5-10fps and it feels awful. Even just going through the ocean results in many frame dips. The starting area seems to have the least amount of frame drops, but once you progress into the next two areas it becomes unplayable. I was enjoying the game but I had to stop playing due to the framerate. I don't recommend buying if you have the base PS4 until these issues are fixed.

im playing on base PS4 and my game isnt as bad as you say and its definitely not unplayable and ive played for a couple-hours but havent gone pass deadhorse lake. But can we get stun bars for the electric jaws ? And can knifing be adjusted to not pull me to the surface if im near it, it messes with combat sometimes. Also add NG+ with higher leveled buffed enemies if possible.

 

That's exactly what happened to me. The final boss fight put me at 100% game completion and no trophy.

 

Level 17- shut the game off. Came back down and it’s started all over again. No save data. not cool

 

Please fix the fps on ps4 the game is so unplayable

I've had zero issues on PS4 pro with framerate. Weird it's only in certain circumstances.

 

Game does not work crashes system

 

I've got a Landmark sign glitch, i've collected everything, except there's a Landmark in Prosperity Sands, with some skeletons on surf boards but no sign only a question mark, i think a was fighting a predator there and knocked the sign then got killed and after i re-spawned i went back to collect it and there's no sign post just the question mark, but i don't want to have to restart the game again.

 

Xbox One X here - Digital Edition

Spent a solid few hours last night grinding to get lvl 5 on all 3 sets.

Got to the final encounter with Scaly Pete, completed it. Credits roll........ Crash.

Restarted the game, all progress lost. Back to lvl 18

 

I have 100% the game, including opening all gates, but did not unlock the trophy. For the record, beating the final boss was the last thing I did to 100% it. I really hope this gets fixed, because I loved playing through this game and want that platinum trophy to represent! Lol

Had the same exact thing happen to me. I hope they fix it soon without me having to completely replay the entire game again.

Yep, welcome to the club buddy! You’ve lost that save file my friend. I wouldn’t bother playing it again.

 

Just a hint. Never use "Continue" on game. Always select your save file manual. Have lost my progress 2 times. After that, I've made a backup save onde a USB Flash drive and saved game on slot 3. Used Play and selected the save file manually and not Continue, played normally after that.

Besides that, still have a ladmark bugged in The Gulf. Wainting for a patch.

 

Please fix the fps on ps4 the game is so unplayable

Yeah, the most consistent instance of this it seems is attacking hunters on their boats out of the water. Seems like when you're around a big city/buildings are loaded in and you're attacking hunters the frames go nuts.

 

Just finished the story and loved every moment! Thanks for a really fun game! Took me 19 hours to finish.
Also got the Queen of the Ocean trophy bug, though. Every area is 100% complete, but, I don't mind going through the game again.
Had 4 crashes (PS4 Pro) during my playthrough too, 2 of them happened right after leaving the Caviar Key Grotto, one just after I fast traveled there, and the 4th one happened as I was entering the Grotto in The Gulf.

 

Scratch missing 'Queen Of The Ocean'! The trophy and the Platinum trophy popped up after I the last large gate I hadn't opened before.

 

Had the game crash and wipe save game 3 times. Finally sat from start to finish without turning PS4 off and completed everything 100%, max evolved everything max upgraded everything. Now on After Party, everything shows 100% except Story which is at 99%?
what am I missing?

Can anybody who has this please let us know what PS4 they are using, and the exact encounters and what they are doing (and how and where they were doing it) when they experience this (We have seen reports of down to 5 to 10ish FPS but have so far not been able to replicate that).

• Not being able to 100% (Queen of the Ocean), Landmarks not counting towards completion- We are looking into locations that are not properly unlocking for players across all platforms
  • We believe we have found two causes:
    • Collectibles that are near region boundaries where players can unlock an item while not being in the zone the item is in - We are testing a fix for this issue now that should grant those items to the players once they swim into the zone

Does It Float is doing this to me. The first time I went into Caviar Key, the signpost was there (but not bite-able). Now there's no signpost at all.

I am using a base model PS4. I had this issue in prosperity sands when attacking the beach rave.
