Maneater Known Issues PSA

Hey everyone,

We are so excited to see so many of you splashing around the gulf in Maneater, but we are aware some of you are being impacted by some issues which we know is not ideal. We want to let you know we are digging into these reports and the following is a non exhaustive list of top issues we are tracking and working on fixes for as soon as we can.

• Player camera gets stuck in the shark
  • There is a rare case where the player camera can get stuck in the shark after a cut scene. To work around, players need to quit to main menu and reload the save to clear this issue until a full fix has been released.
• Progress Loss/Save Game Issues
  • We are continuing to investigate this issue, but so far attempts to replicate it internally to find the cause have failed. We are looking for any and all player information about what could trigger this to happen.
• Achievements not be awarded after Hotfix 2
  • We believe these issues will not trigger on a new game, we are currently still investigating if achievements/trophies and unlocks not being rewarded can be retroactively granted, but currently we recommend players start a new game.
• Trophies Not Being Granted on PS 5
  • We believe we know what is causing this and are working on a fix

We continue be excited by all of you who have taken a bite into Maneater so far, doubly so for those that have and are helping us track down these issues in our bug forums.

I have all areas 100% I think I got this bug (can’t get Queen of the Ocean) because I did everything BEFORE I encountered Pete the last time. ie I finished Crawfish Bay before the battle. So when I finished the battle it didn’t give me the trophy, I’m now stuck with everything completed and nothing left to do to try to override the glitch.

 

Is there going to be anything done to fix the lost save data? Recovery? I put down the game at around 5pm today (before your PSA), and was going to sit down to play some of it just now, and my save data was gone. 0 hours and 1 minutes played now. I was level 30 and had just one location left to uncover, so I was very far into the game.

Same problem, at lvl 20 went to start a story mission game crash and when restarted the game save was gone and it started a new game. Great game but very disappointed after putting about 8 hrs lost all progress.

 

The only landmark that is bugged out for me is in Fawtick Bayou in the lower left corner by the grate and 2 license plates and that is the only one I need to 100% the game. I'm having some performance loss as well when I soeed through the water with a lot of hunters chasing me or jumping out of the water. Im on ps4 but all that aside this is a phenomenal game and I cant think of the last time I was sucked into a game like this haha. I appreciate the help.

 

So I made an account specifically to address this issue on the PS4. I have 100 percent in every area, have done every story log mission, killed every Hunter (infamous 10), maxed every mutation and unlocked all trophies except for queen of the ocean, which I should have which prevents me from getting my Platinum trophy.

 

I have 100% the game, including opening all gates, but did not unlock the trophy. For the record, beating the final boss was the last thing I did to 100% it. I really hope this gets fixed, because I loved playing through this game and want that platinum trophy to represent! Lol

 

I’m really apprehensive about playing this game any longer I bought it for my self and my girlfriend, we have 3 Xbox’s through out the house and the overheating issue happens on all of them and only with this game. If the game damages my systems I’m holding you accountable. I’ve already reached out to Microsoft requesting a refund. The game is great but I don’t feel like replacing Xbox’s because you overlooked a huge bug.

 

Hi Guys,

I also had a problem with the "Queen of the Ocean" trophy in my run. I had 100% in each area but had not received the trophy. I was able to get it by opening one of the big gates (the gate between Prosperity Sands and Golden Shores). I hadn't previously opened any of these gates in my run. I hope this can help you further to get the trophy.

Try this out if you not opend all of the big gates!!

• Xbox One X Overheating - We are aware that some Xbox One X users hare having an overheat shut down/message and are working with Microsoft to address this issue.
• Progress Loss/Save Game Issues - We are tracking this issue and have had some success in replicating it. For now to help avoid this happening to you, do not play with a controller that can disconnect or go into sleep mode during your play session. This seems like the primary culprit of this issue impacting players, but we are continuing to investigate other potential causes as well.
• Not being able to 100% (Queen of the Ocean), Landmarks not counting towards completion- We are looking into locations that are not properly unlocking for players across all platforms
  • A Dead Horse Lake landmark appears to be the primary culprit for many here
  • We are aware of other locations that may also be preventing this, you can help by reporting any in the bug forums
• PS4 Frame Loss - We are investigating reports that users are getting massive frame loss in some situations on PS4.

We do not yet have a timetable to share for when these issues will be addressed, but hope to do so as soon as possible. We continue be excited by all of you who have taken a bite into Maneater so far, doubly so for those that have and are helping us track down these issues in our bug forums.

It appears there is more than one landmark location in dead horse lake not showing.

 

Yes, I thought so. I think that these big gates do not belong to the "Queen of the Ocean" trophy because I only opened one of them and still received the trophy. I assume that my suggestion can only help those who have not yet opened any of the gates or not all of them. After completing my story run I had 100% everywhere and I think that's the problem. When I opened the gate I think the game has again checked all the circumstances and then noticed that everything is 100% and then triggered the last two missing trophies. Since you apparently opened all the gates during your run, before you finished the game, you have to find another trigger, the only question is which one it can be. I would spontaneously say that it would be best if you ended the story without having 100% everywhere and then did a few little things at the end and then the trophy was released as normal.

I do not think that the gates are an part of the trophy. There are several gates and I actually only opened one of them. All other gates are still closed in my savegame. I think that was just a move that triggered a backroundcheck in the game and then unlocked the two missing trophys.

 

Cannot retrieve the last cache at Dead Horse Lake. It's invisible.
Came back after 99.9% completion of the game, just need that one cache, but it's still bugged out. Tried restarting ofc, but it didn't change anything.
Platform: PS4 Pro.

PS: Would be nice if this forum admitted larger than 1MB files...

Overheating warning and shut off warning about 20 minutes into gameplay on PS4 pro. Dont have problems with ANY other game. RDR 2, GTA5, Elder Scrolls, The Crew 2, and so many more I have no issues with after hours of gameplay. After only 20-30 minutes of Maneater gameplay it starts giving me the warning messages. Looks like it will be a fun game but as of right now cant play.

 

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this problem. Especially when I play all my other games, I don't have this problem

Yes have same problem. I fully replaced my thermal paste a few weeks ago and haven't hade 1 problem until playing maneater unfortunately great game but yeah I currently cant play the game. And have fully tested it with about 10 other games with the system running for hours. So yeah cant wait till this is fixed to be able to enjoy this awesome game. Dont worry it's not your system and only way to report it as of right now is here? Because when it gets the overheat warning/shut off it dont give a option to report...? So being able to report it on the actual ps4 is currently hard for this issue.

No it hasn't!

 

I'm having the issue, consistently, of losing my save game on PC without any sort of controller or anything. My first save game was ten hours in when the game crashed and my save was erased, and the second was six hours in when the same thing happened. Both were seemingly completely random.

 

Just finished the game and completed all objectives to 100% but I’m locked at 99% story complete with the trophy “Queen of the Ocean” unable to pop. I’m playing on a PS4.
