This is at its worst with sniper rifles.

Games have had interruptible reloads on weapons that reload one round at a time - shotguns and sniper rifles mostly - for over a decade now.

There is absolutely no excuse for this feature to be missing not only from RO1, but RO2 as well. Even Darkest Hour has it; why doesn't RO2?

Maybe we need to rate this thread to make the producers listen to our ideeas because this feature is a must to implement and like Ross said it has been available around the majority of fps shooters around.

Fix. Please.
Also add an animation when firing so you actually see your finger pulling the trigger (when you are in such a position of course)
Honestly, who is paying attention to the position of their finger when there's an enemy in front? This is a tiny issue that does not affect gameplay at all (much unlike the one the thread is about, which severely penalises snipers). In the time it would take for that animation to be included they could most likely fix several issues which actually matter.

The single rounds loaded into the weapon ARE THERE. If you cancel the animation with either a short sprint or a melee attack after loading three rounds, the weapon will contain three rounds. The rounds DO NOT VANISH. Please test before posting.

Sure, it would be nice for a left mouse click to stop the reload, but a melee attack, a short sprint, or even going from crouch to prone during the reload all retain whatever rounds you've loaded.

Tested with both bolt action rifles, sniper and non-sniper variants, and the M1895 Nagant revolver. I have tested it with manual bolting set to ON and OFF and auto-reloading set to both ON and OFF.

THE LOADED ROUNDS ARE COUNTED.

It's still cool and animators should like attention to detail :D

I don't know maybe you timed the action for loading corectly before stopping it. I remained out of bullets some times maybe is a timing problem.
Also if the feature is already implemented this means much less work for the Devs so why not implement this as working in-game function. It would only help gameplay :D

So make this a feature because the majority of the games can stop reloading for a weapon so why can't they add it instead of pressing melee or sprint why can't it be a implemented feature to stop weapon reloading from mouse button one without doing any other action.

But why not make this a feature in-game like if you want to stop the loading of your weapon you press mousebutton 1 also if you stopped it while you had loaded few rounds in your magasine you are also ready to fire the weapon. That would be pretty nice. But now the problem is how to make the developers look at this issue?

+1
having to hit melee or sprint to cancel reloading is a bit clunky. your suggestion would save my virtual life several hundred times ;)

But I hope to implement the feature to the game because until is not implemented it remains only a suggestion. :p
