D:
Why everybody hate on the Type 100? What's so bad about it?
Weak damage, poor ballistics. mediocre accuracy. I can tolerate the 1st tier version, sometimes, on certain maps.

The 'upgraded' one is just plain trash, IMO. Fire rate is too slow, recoil isn't any lower than the previous version, and the sights suck. I know IRL those 'peep sights' would be more accurate than 'open sights' but in game they're only a hindrance. The slower rate of fire version simply has too little 'fire density' and not much going for it to make up for that, unless you're obsessed with bayonets.
I'd much rather bring a bolt action to the fight than a type100

Over here, no not there, here.

But I mean, the damage difference is so little that it should only matter in very specific circumstances, they're both 2 shot kill COM, unless you're fighting banzai, but the Type 100 shouldn't be used against banzaiing Axis players anyway :/
I agree about the upgrades though, I think the Type 100/40 should either be the 0-24 version or a seperate weapon.

Ah crap this thread is about LMGs, sorry bout that.

If you've got an American MG it's not hard to cut down 6-12 'Banzai-ing' Japanese before they even get into an objective... assuming you have a decent position and they're not right in your face.

The most annoying part of the MG is finding a place to use the bi-pod effectively without bugs, and having to shift your position and reacquire the sights every second, especially in the heat of battle. Being able to crouch fire the japanese MG's using the sights would make it far more effective and much less tedious to use.

I hate people who complain about 'Rambo-ers.' shut up. I cut people down with the (Japanese captured) 1911 at 100m, when I'm MG class, because hip firing is not very effective or ammo efficient, IMO. You gonna cry about that when I take out half a dozen guys with a 1911 or a suppressed 1895 nagant too?

If you can't kill a 'ramboing' MG'er who's hipfiring your reflexes and ability to aim are probably just poor.

Japanese type100 is garbage. I'll only use the 1st tier one, but I've found the bolt action to be far more effective at all ranges, if you can aim.

US has Trenchguns, Thompsons, BAR's and Garands (on top of their LMG), that's a F*&*load of firepower to stop a banzai charge. Even with a health buff, automatic weapons will cut down the Japanese easily, especially if they're moving together in groups.

Honestly, the 'balance' isn't that terrible, with a good Japanese team, but I'd like to see shoulder fired Type96/99's simply because it's so hard to find a good location to use the bipod without 'cannot deploy here' and other annoying issues.

You sir, just read my mind ^^ couldn't agree more!

level 25 onwards type 100 might as well be called semi automatic xD

I don't think it would I was doing a massive full RS game it was a massacre, Japanese were screwed by thompsons and BARs spraying me down, me and a friend were an MG team, one rifleman and the other MG we couldn't get a proper position or defend ourselves as we were being sprayed from the flanks by the old BAR; basically hip fire ain't great and rifles can't suppress or compete with full autos

Now THAT is a low-ROF mg42... that's about 800rpm I'd guess, instead of the standard 1200. Sounds like an mg34 instead of a 42.

Now find one of somebody shooting a Japanese MG that way.

I still think this is a solution in search of a problem.

Also, the Type 99 has a rate of fire of around 800rpm-900rpm so its about the same rate of fire here...

Type 96 is even less at 550 rpm! :D

Again though, the inability to fire them isn't about the size or weight or RoF, it's about the fact that they don't have a nice grip like the Bren or a foldy bipod like the MG42.

The Bren in the first video didn't have a grip. and the Type 99 and 96 have a folding bipod too :p!

But doesn't it like fold out to the side of the barrel instead of directly under it like the MG42?

I think the Bren in the first video did have a grip. He's clenching his fist next to the barrel; it'd be an awfully strange way to hold it if there weren't a grip.

Type96/99 have a bayonet with a handle that can be used as a fore grip of sorts.

Yeah this needs to happen soon, it seems like a logical solution to counter unbalance in RS. I was on Saipan with my type 96 level 50 getting destroyed because of flamers as I not even setup due to suppression from American firepower:IS2:.
