I think the "light destruction" should do more effect in the map and become a lot darker the place. But they also should remove the "battery" for flashlight and night vision, or at least make it last a lot longer.

Problem with outpost is it's almost always better to play outside due to larger areas. Making inside even darker will make it an even worse deathtrap.

Exactly what I was thinking, you cant expect ALL maps to be really dark, people like different things. Im sure there will be extremely dark core maps as well, and like I said in another thread theres plenty of mappers working on fully destructible lighting environment (myself included).

I just realised you change name...hiding from me you...Couldn't say it better myself. There is sooooo many maps being made right now, that I am really tempted to get into mapping. Let me and others know some updates in the future please! Loved your atmosphere maps.

Eh, personally I hate overly dark games. I always boost the gamma as high as it can be, because not being able to see things just isn't a fun skill check.

If Tripwire does make things darker I hope they keep some variety.
Not seeing **** is enough reason for me to quit playing most games.
I think KF1 did it right, pitch black spots were a rarity.
In KF2 there's some pretty dark floor and wall textures in places and the lack of fill lighting really makes it annoying to see sometimes, even on max gamma.

I like the idea of having darker maps. The medic has flashlights on all their guns so that'd be a cool thing to use more

I'm sure some darker maps are in the pipes, and the community is going to make them regardless.

Aside from that, play Bioticslab 2009.

Strobing emergency backup lights need to happen.

Imagine how intense this game would be with 200 Zeds bumrushing you across the deck of say, an aircraft carrier at night (Modular Static Set be damned, it could be done) and there are emergency lights doing linear fade strobes 2 seconds long.

Or maybe you have spotlights that act like search lights, just make them with a canned-looped-keyframed animation but make them asymmetrical and asynchronous so they appear totally bloody random.
