I was just wondering if there is a way to make the iron sights a non-toggle. I'm used to my Call of Duty controls where I hold down the key for my iron sights. It would also be helpful because when you are coming from the prone position it doesn't allow you to use iron sights for a couple seconds and I always end up frantically tapping the key trying to get them to come up so I can shoot someone, if I could have it so I just hold them down it would just come up when it was ready. Anyone got any suggestions?

To whoever moved this: Its not an idea or a suggestion, its a question on whether or not this is already possible.

MiddleMouse=ROIronSights|onrelease ROIronSights

if you add that line to your user.ini file (replacing the old MiddleMouse=ROIronSights )
it'll turn your iron sights into a hold key.

look for the file in
\"Steam-install dir"\SteamApps\"your steam user name"\red orchestra\System\

i just tested it myself and it works perfecty.
althou i put it on the right mouse button.

sometimes it screws up if you release it before the iron sight animation is playing but if you quickly tap the key its back to normal agian.

After I did this I could no longer press 1-5 to switch my weapons nor could I mouse wheel up/down for them. Is this related?

EDIT: Nvmd, it was a server bug or a map bug for German Tank Crewmen.

SECOND EDIT: Thanks for this though, I love being able to treat Red Orchestra like all my other Unreal games with Iron Sights.

Why not make it up to the player? (Think of crouching.. one button for toggling crouch, and one button to crouch.) In small areas, such as buildings, I'd like to have a non-toggle iron sight button, but when I'm sniping, and staying zoomed in for a bit, I'd like to toggle my scope.

This is a must for me. I hate having to toggle to raise your sites. I like for my rifle to come down when I release myright mouse button.

Everyone needs to be like me and use F as thier iron sight key. The right mouse button is far more suited to the melee key. :cool:

I always switch this in pretty much every FPS with iron sights. When you need to smack someone with your stock, you don't want to be fumbling around on your keyboard, heh.

It is fine the way it is. It gets tiring to hold the iron sight button down.

But an option would be nice.

They just better have the original RO1 style in.
