Machete revival

It's an odd formulation you have there. Proposing to ressurect a weapon by nerfing another... it's weird.

Anyways, I think it makes sense removing the knife's decap, but I'm afraid this will nerf 'zerkers below level 5, who try to kill them by deccaping with the knife on the first waves.

or the people who think they are bamfs, go after bloats to decap, get puked on, the get raped by a horde of clots resulting in death

When I play zerker (mine is level 3 or 4, can't remember now), I use my knife to kill zeds, and draw my 9mm to drop that nasty bloat. The knife is good: I deal more damage with it than with 9mm, I don't reload, "fire" faster, and walk faster. No reasons not to use it besides 9mm's range.

No to the knife replacement for me. You trade off effectiveness for the speed boost that only the knife provides. That's a mechanic that's still slightly relevant in game, I think.

I think they should give the machete a three-chop attack animation with decent speed. You KNOW berzerkers will be using it then. Like, lower-right to upper left, upper-left to upper right, then a vertical chop.

And then gorefast uses his blade to do a C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!

But seriously, my idea wasn't only motivated by a sentiment for machete. Knife is quite overpowered. It's like there's no point in using 9MM during first two waves, save for crawlers and shooting off bloat's head, regardless of the perk. Lately I started to kill sirens with a knife out of boredom, and surprisingly, I didn't die.

perhaps a quick slash option could also be added ( shamless little nab from cod4 ). It preferences first to the machette then to the knife; does roughly more then a machette power swing.

yep that's what i do as well. i was kinda being sarcastic in response to the post before mine asking who would use the knife :D

The knife's always my closest friend. As for the machete, I use it mainly when I play as firebug, I use it to chop down the weak burning creeps rusing on me.

Why not remove the knifes decap ability and make it a stab that stuns (much like the zerkers katana on a scrake)....zerker could run amongst crowds stabbing & stopping them in their tracks...several stabs will kill clots....machete becomes the cheap decap tool....

Knife
- Make it unable to decapitate.
- Change the secondary attack to a stab, which stuns well

Machete
- Make it better than currently
- Make it only weigh 1, instead of 3.

Add a SHIELD!
Make the shield wieldable with either Knife or Machete. The shield would be AWESOME to add
Make the Shield weigh 6, and while wielding the Shield, the Machete weighs nothing extra (think of how dualwield HC doesn't add more weight when you buy the second one. Same with Shield + Machete, only the weight of the Shield counts)
The Shield should also be like a "line of sight" from a Siren scream, not damaging you nor the shield, removing one of the many counter-enemies of KF for the zerker.

Fire Axe
- Make it's main attack cleave, aka, hit multiple targets.
- Make it's powerstrike hit very hard, but very slow, stun well (100% chance on headshots) and maybe able to breach down doors very quickly

Katana
- Make the powerstrike cleave (hit more targets)

Chainsaw
- Make it ALOT more powerful, but run on fuel but also cost more

This does ALOT to the Zerker class:

Machete (+Shield) - Defensive option
Fire Axe - Hit&Run and sweeper weapon (cheap)
Katana - High dps weapon, with sweeping option
Chainsaw - Highest dps weapon, but limited use

Makes you spend a bit more money (Shield and Chainsaw), which the Zerker currently does not do very much.
