I support the no silencer thing. It just bugs me how every game that features the mac-10 also has it silenced. This is a specimen invasion, why do I have a silencer on my machine pistol again?

Especially as a firebug. WTF is that crap about? I think stealth went out the window as soon as you start SETTING EVERYTHING ON FIRE!

The only thing I use the mac-10 for is to pump a full mag into a husk at close range, otherwise I'm flamethrower all the way. The stock would have little benefit for me.

When I mean no silencer I mean you can take off the silencer and put it back on using the alt fire key. It's all done through 2 animations and code.

I vote for the stock because the stock is something that sounds like it actually has game-changing use. :IS2:

This is getting crazier, didn't you mention that you didn't have time to find out how to use the flashlight (simple peice of code) but now you suddenly have time for The Sorrow to make a complete new animation for the stock plus a 3rd person mesh for the Mac with a stock?
Or are you just going to have it in FP and keep the same mesh for 3rd?

And just a question but how would the stock be beneficial? if it lowers recoil rate then yes that would be much prefered, lol although I still have no intention of downloading it as I like the semi auto changer option.

Your funny, the stock just require two things, animations and code, thats it! No model adjustments what so ever to the first person mesh, its all done via code and animation notifies. Plus I will have pros and cons to have the stock on or off don't you worry.

I made the decision, the make MAC10 will have a silencer and I will make it so it has the adjustable stock and it will be hopefully two handed if The_Sorrow has the time.

Me likes. Especially if The_Sorrow takes his time to adjust the grip.

Actually, the supressor serves a purpose with the MAC10. It extends the barrel, increasing accuracy. It also adds some weight, decreasing the recoil.

I am quite sad to see the semiautomatic fire go, though. Time to learn some burst control.

I find that bursts are necessary on HoE anyway. If you just shoot a zed one time by the time it burns to death it will be in your face chewing it off. I fire 3 round bursts into Zeds and they usually go down before they can threaten me or my teammates.

Silencers are not a barrel extension, and do nothing for accuracy. The bullet does not touch the inside of the silencer.

This.

The M10 suppressor was also ahead of its time. Instead of needing to be replaced, it needed to be cleaned.

A lot of the higher end rifle and handgun suppressors can be taken apart and cleaned. Some do need baffle and packing replacement, but a lot of the good ones last awhile and can be cleaned.

One of the reasons the suppresor is so huge, besides reducing the noise to just the firing pin hitting the bullet, is that it gives the user something to hold on to.

They even make dummy silencers just for that purpose - holding it. :IS2:

By the way, I thought silencers had little effect on guns except maybe for the MP5A3's internal silencer. I mean the silencer in guns are only good for areas that are already loud, or for wide open spaces like fields to stop the sound carrying as far or to stop it becoming noticable over the loud noise. Aside from that, it's still pretty loud, just dropped by a few decibels.

They are a lot better than they used to be. I have seen handgun silencers where the only thing you can hear is the slide cycling. Some rifle silencers are pretty effective as well.

The dummy silencers are just for looks, when you can't buy an SBR but want the look of one. They are not for holding onto, that is what the foregrip of a rifle is for. The mac 10 has a strap hanging off the front to hold onto anyways.
