There is another thread on this but not under the Mac Support so giving it a go. Upgraded to Mac OSX 10.7 'Lion' a week ago, haven't been able to play KF since and I miss it. My friends miss me online too. Please take pity on me, please at least tell me you're working on Lion support.

From the other thread there seems to be some kind of display problem under Lion. For me, my screen goes black after loading, sometimes with jagged vivid colours across it. Others have reported they've managed to get it to load (lucky so-and-sos) but things are not drawing correctly on the screen or are even completely missing. I don't think it's as simple as a driver, I think there's something a bit more OS deep going on here. It would be great to hear that Tripwire are at least looking to support the new OS.

Thanks guys. Any help, guesses, workarounds appreciated.

Same issue, as soon as it loads screen goes crazy and my computer freezes.
Playing around with graphics settings has'nt helped either.

Workaround : ... i installed 10.6.8 on an external hard rive and boot into that one to play killing floor..... sad isn't it?

Anyhow whats your graphics card aftertrace? ,I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB, i've checked the driver download site for Nvidea and the driver available is for os X 10.6.8.... checking every now and then for a driver for 10.7

Mine is the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB. As far as I can see, NVIDIA's driver download site points me back to Apple, who have nothing. Apple are usually bullet proof at making sure drivers for their core products work with the OS (it's one of the chief strengths of Mac OS, surely?!). I'm not having any problems with any other games and as you suggest can't fix the problem by playing around with settings. I have feeling a KF update is what's needed and would appreciate hearing whether Tripwire are looking into this.

I love your workaround! And I'm tempted to go down the same track just so I can carry on gaming!

i thought my video card was dying but it only does it for killing floor so it may be that. I lowered my video settings and that didnt fix it. It will start flickering as a level is loading and then when the match starts it is snow/static/broken frames. So this is just lion/killing floor and not my macbook pro?

Confirmed with latest update on 320M, this appears to affect NVIDIA Graphics chips. It does not occur on an iMac also running Lion with an ATI 5770HD.

This is affecting multiple games, there are threads on issues with NVIDIA chips for Sims 3 and Spore.

Thanks ATLbandit. It will be worth keeping an eye open for an update and I would appreciate if you could post here if you hear anything. Meanwhile I've installed Bootcamp and Windows 7 just to play KF. Extreme, I know, but I was only 21 Invisi*****es from level 4 Commando, and it was annoying me ;)

As far as I can tell from testing and from reading around, the NVIDIA GeForce drivers included in Lion (10.7.0) have issues with the OpenGL vertex buffers that can cause different sorts of graphics issues. This can be minor things like artifacts or major things like a complete lockup which requires a hard reboot.

That being said, I don't think this is something that Tripwire can fix. I think this will need to be fixed in a driver update, so be looking for 10.7.1 to test for fixes. I would imagine EA has already gotten with Apple and NVIDIA about the issue considering how large-scale the problem reports are with The Sims 3.

Workaround...

Workaround...

Downloaded os X 10.7.1.... and... nothing happened the game still crashes.

Found another workaround to play Killing Floor...
Downloaded the source utility gfxCardStatus. It helps you FORCE which card your using, so basically i forced the intel hd graphics card and killing floor didn't crash, and its actually playable.
I hate workarounds... but i've got to play killing floor.

This still occurs with the 10.7.2 GM, though instead of hard-locking my machine Killing Floor crashes. It also seems to happen much more frequently on more complex maps. E.g., the Doom 2 Level 1 map works fine.
