Mac Mac Crash On Start Up (Steam)

Well i played once for 13 min and heading to the next level then all the sudden it crashed... tried to start back up but continued to crash over and over. Followed what people were saying, for example (-windows) on the launch startup. I even reinstalled the game three times. I also tried to verify integrity of game cache and still didn't work. Still hope for the best and try it everyday, hopefully till a good update on my macbook air. Just hope you guys can help me figure this problem out or to wait it out. :(

hey, I'm not exactly what one would call tech-savy, but I think I found a file that might help solve the problem. I'm not sure why, but it looks like it dected windows 98 on my mac? maybe some kind of interference with wine? I dunno.

holy **** it works
for those who -window didn't work, heres what I did
locate /Users/(User)/Library/Application Support/Killing Floor
tere should be two folders, cache and system.
from the cache folder, delete cache.ini
from the system folder, delete killing floor.ini
restart steam and run killing floor
note- I did some other stuff before trying this, but I'm pretty sure this is what fixed it

perk xp intact, keeps my level fine and everything
however, it force closes... often. maybe once every 2/3 hours?
whatever, I can deal. just glad to be able to play it again

Deleting both cache.ini and killingfloor.ini did nothing, game worked fine until today

Game doesnt launch, quits after splash screen

Any updates? Just got this issue today. was totally fine yesterday. Was an update released? Does a crashlog help?

I'm guessing these are the critical lines:
UObject::StaticLoadObject <- UObject::processEvent <- ULevel::SpawnActor <- UObject::processEvent <- ULevel::SpawnPlayActor <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

same here as well. Played yesterday all right, and since this morning it doesn't work. Splash screen show up, wait for about 5 secs, then goes away and the app exits.
I deleted User.ini, KillingFloor.ini, cache.ini, didn't improve anything. Adding "-window" in the launch options didn't change anything either.

Interestingly, the app works if I run it directly from the command line (open a Terminal and run "Library/Application\ Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/KillingFloor/Killing\ Floor.app/Contents/MacOS/Killing\ Floor") BUT it's broken, it can't communicate with Steam in this state and you have no perk (no class at all).

YEAH I found a workaround for getting KF running again!

Just right click the Game in Steam > Properties and DISABLE the in-game "Steam Community"!

After you've done that, KF runs again :)

I just registered to post the same issue. Also managed to get KF working for me (was crashing at splash screen) by switching off "Enable Steam Community In-Game". Thanks Swizzinex!
