How much does cheaper than dirt sell them for? I have some extra military surplus clips I don't need. PM me if you want them.

Look around for any local gun shows, or even shops, you should find loads. Or give Ebay a shot.

Also: bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-PING!
Sorry couldn't resist.:D

FAIL!

there are only 6 shots :D

also somehow all the Garands ive shot extract the clip at a way higher angle and throw it further away :D

Just for future reference, you can buy ammo cans full of 30.06 pre-packed in en-block clips in bandoleers from sportsmansguide.com.

umm, youre probably not in my area, but there's a pawn shop called ben's loan (renton, washington) that has tons of those things, pre-loaded or in a big box of empties.

Yay! A flellow garand shooter!

Lesson number 1- Buy your ammo from the Civilian Marksmanship Program! Go to ODCMP.com and go to their Estore. Buy M2 Ball on clips for about .25-.28 cents a round. It is cheaper to pick it up(obviously) than have it delivered. So check and see if you are close enough to one of their two stores. Stack it deep! When this surplus runs out there won't be anything else that I know of that is safe to shoot and cheap.

It would have been better if it held 10 rounds, But still a unique rifle though.

Thanks for the info i'm stocked with about 200 rounds and some clips now. I fired it for the first time a couple of weeks ago along side my No.4. I have to say i'm impressed. Clearly i'm not quite as good with it as I am with No.4 which i have been shooting since i was about 10 but still I got a very good grouping at 50 yds. If i remember i'll post up the pics here (or you can view them on the DH forums in the general chat section).

the only problem i found was on the initial load of each clip as the bolt came forwards to close the breach it would often stick so the breach would not close 100% (for those who fire M1's they'll notice the top of the breach rotates a little to the right as the bolt slides home) this wasn't happening so although the gun was cocked the firing pin was too far away to engage with the round. After a little oil and working the bolt backwards and forwards a few times the issue was resolved. I also tried some mid clip reloads just to test out a few theories I had heard. I can see how it could be a bit of a pain in the *** in combat but it didn't seem overly difficult, in fact i'd go as far as to say it was pretty easy. Still wouldn't want to try it in combat. Next on my list is a Springfield 1903, a K98 and probs a couple of other bits and peices. I'm really not into the ruskie stuff though so I probably won't get a nagant.

if you dont want a nagant see if yo can get a svt 40, they fire the same dirt cheap ammo as the nagant but are semi auto, i saw one at a gunshow but my license hasent finished through yet so all i could do was drool.

I think i'd rather get the nagant than the SVT 40 tbh but for some reason ruskie rifles just don't appeal to me....not sure why.

i find i have to agree in some ways, ruskie guns arent designed to have the elegant look that rifles like the enfield and the garand had and still have, after seeing a nagant i really had to think "wow that gun looks so ugly i might be embarresed to use it in battle".
