[Info] lower than 'high' shadows causes crash

i started experiencing crashing after lowering shadows from high to medium.

i always turn shadows down first in any game to grab extra fps, but noticed that every 5-10 mins the game would crash.

i reverted back to 'high' shadows and, lo and behold the game hasn't crashed in 2 hours.

Similar problem here except I was getting severe crashes on low setting and so far haven't crashed with it up to medium setting

Performance-wise the game runs still smooth. So it's obviously not an issue caused by not enough RAM/CPU whatever.

update: haven't crashed all day.

then i turn shadows down to low and crash within 10 seconds of joining my first game.

all but confirmed.

Confirmed aswell from a friend and I, crash when lowering shadow graphics to Low.

8800gt
2.5gb ram.
2.3ghz dual.

Yep, posted a thread about it in Support.
I had mine on medium..would crash..turned it on low and crashed even more. Then I put it on ultra and no more crashes..just lower FPS.

I was just gonna post something similar to this.

For me, Medium is just fine. Occasional crash (rare). However, I reduced the setting from Medium to Low and it was crash city until I bumped back up to Medium. Maybe if I bump up to High or Ultra, crashes would be eliminated altogether ...?

Confirmed here too. Crashed at launch, at browser and eventually while in game. Updated video card drivers, tried one other fixed to ROengine.ini, still crashed in game.

Then I set shadows to medium. Played 5 games now with no crashes.

I've only had ONE crash since setting it to ultra..and that was when using 'reconnect' through console when I got a no-spawn bug.

Confirmed here too. Crashed at launch, at browser and eventually while in game. Updated video card drivers, tried one other fixed to ROengine.ini, still crashed in game.

Then I set shadows to medium. Played 5 games now with no crashes.

How would shadow setting be related to crashes at launch or at the browser? Seems strange. That said I have been crashing more than playing so I am game to try anything.
