Get informed, its our country and we should know whats going on. IF you don't like the things that are happening its your duty to understand why so you can be a part of the solution.
They shot themselves in the foot, to use an old metaphor. By placing a sign on Steam saying "Low Violence Version", not a warning btw but an all out "This is a low violence version", they've effectively killed their chances at getting past censors. The censor people, assuming they make an effort, will have a look at the game, at the advertising, etc. If they see that up there, they'll go "Huh.. Even the developer thinks this is a horribly violent game that has no place in this country.". At which point it gets censored, vicious cycle and all that.
People holding the crusades cited religion. People cut other peoples head off on live tv and cite religion. Which if you read the books they're referring to, are generally quite specific about what they do and do not cover.
Just because they say religion, doesn't mean they're telling the truth. Think of it like me going on another website and say TWI told me that the game is going to be censored because they don't like Aussies.
I'd be lying, would you agree? Would you say it's TWI's fault?
Of course the shooters party would object, they're finally making headway into getting guns taken down from the "OMG GUNS WILL KILL US ALL!!" stance taken by every other party in Aus, and then we start arguing that we really need to play these super violent video games. In the USA just recently, as in the past few days, there was a big shooting, dude killed a family. Think there's nine people dead? That doesn't help the Aus shooters party given that most people are easily swayed by emotional arguments.
An R18+ rating could technically allow Japanese loli games in. Child porn is legal for art, it's legal for cultural purposes. The next step to games isn't a great leap so other parties will object for that reasoning.
lol. Informed.. I know that the current political power in parliament is composed of a party and a few indeps who weren't voted in, because the majority government didn't get an all out majority so we should have had a reelection. We didn't, and thus our parliament is illegal. There, I'm informed, now what? Knowing something is stupid and being able to do something about it can be very different things.
